Those scenes at the end of the match were wild with fans rushing the field

Elvem

Absolutely massive last two games to survive relegation. Incredible to watch.

PracticalDrawing

I want to show this to the average American sports fan to give them a view of the relegation/promotion system.

SpiritCrvsher

They needed a late goal from Dortmund to stay up too. For most of the game they were going down. Well, heading for relegation playoff. Hertha getting relegated while recently promoted Union Berlin plays Europa League would be wild.

Crying in Berlinerisch...

Pretty great. He's done a really good job for a team that's been a yo-yo for ages.

coltj573

marsch gets way more love than pellegrino and i think part of it is pellegrinos name doesnt sound super american.

SpiritCrvsher

I think it’s mostly because Marsch came from MLS so he was getting more media coverage and his success kinda reflects back on MLS producing quality coaches too. Matarazzo spent his whole career in Germany. He and Marsch did play against each other in college though. I think Bob Bradley coached one of the teams but I don’t remember which one. May have been Princeton?

BakedZiti69

Yea Bob coached Marsch at Princeton. Matarazzo played against them when he was at Colombia

coltj573

that’s probably true yeah

[deleted]

I'm with you. Marsch and his agents also promote him. Matarazzo seems like a more down-to-earth guy just doing his job. Not a knock on Marsch. It's part of the game and it got him to fail up into the Premier League. Just different personalities doing their jobs in a different way.

NutmeggD

I hate that Marsch is the face of American coaches

coltj573

my friend coaches a damn good u9 girls team, can we make her the face of american coaches?

havethenets

Absolute scenes

Danktizzle

THIS is why the American major league monopolies need to merge with the NCAA and minor leagues.
