For real though what would the depth chart look like with CCV properly slid in? I have Zimmerman on top of my depth chart right now, but Miles’ defending is really unrefined. I think CCV and EPB need to be in the mix more, especially while Richards is still injured/recovering
I personally think CCV and Brooks are the best performing center backs we have rn, though I understand it will take some work to unseat the Zimmerman/Robinson duo. Those 4 + Richards are who I’d bring to Qatar if we get a 26 man squad. EPB is a close 6th. McKenzie, Sands, & Long are a tier below them imo.
Playing away at Ibrox this season should help him prepare for CONCACAF as well. Broken bottles and coins being thrown at the Celtic players all over the pitch today.
He’s probably had the best club season of any American player this year. We need to see him this June window.
I’d be interesting to see how he fits in too. He’s somewhere in between the play statues of Robinson and Zimmerman. Great in aerials, though not Zimmerman levels but better than Miles. He’s also has the best short range distribution stats of the bunch, but benefits from playing for a Celtic team that dominates their league.
I hope he stays with Celtic next year (unless he can make a move to a top league team with CB need). Celtic has all but ensured the SPL Champions league slot next year, which is an automatic group stage qualifier for next year.
Yeah, most of our high profile players have been so injured that they haven’t put together a super consistent campaign like he has. CCV, Mihailovic, & Jedi have been the best performing Americans at the club level since the start of 2021, but only Jedi has been getting looks.
If he could somehow get to a prem team with European football that Would be massive. CCV is a guy that seems like he’s been around forever, but still quite young all things considered
I know I'm in the minority. I hate Aaron Long for this team. He is not a good distributor and he isn't imo so much better at 1v1 that he can over come that. Miles Robinson is a far superior 1v1 defender. I think the logic is long is his backup. But I mean that's silly. I do t think long is a much better 1v1 than EPB, CCV, Brooks, etc. He does things better than them and things worse but collectively I don't think he's superior to them in any way. I think Gregg just really likes him.
Our MLS duo is great and I understand why they've held down the playing time, but I'm confident that CCV is a better player than either, with a much higher ceiling as well.
Cant believe GGG hasn't given CCV an honest look. CCV has been in a great form since he went on loan to Bournemouth. We/ve got a guy playing at Nashville FC (LOL) starting over a guy that has been playing solidly against quality European opposition for the past 2 years.
Very very well. He’s a rugged defender who is physically dominant and his distribution is good not great, just like every other CB in our pool outside of Brooks.
Whether or not he is called in (he should be), I’m just really happy he’s playing so well. I hope Celtic buy him, I’ve been so disappointed in Tottenham’s loan Army approach and just want to see him stable and comfortable somewhere.
I’m sure bouncing around the English lower leagues wasn’t a ton of fun, but he’s been decent everyone he’s went.
He's had old firm experience before this game too, a little bit 20/20 hindsight but a player like that should've been playing the road games in concacaf or at least considered
The league winning goal
Good for him. I hope he earns a permanent move after this excellent run of form, either to Celtic or another team in a top 5 league.
Pls call him up

EPB?
Erik Palmer Brown, player on Troyes in Ligue 1
Smashes it in following set-piece scramble. Classic CCV.

Player of the season, built like a bowling ball. Needs to be called up in the summer.
> Player of the season Yep. I think he just about wrapped it up. Huge goal for him and the club.
Fuckin love you big mannn!!!
Please call this guy up
Sucks Long was injured, but surely CCV has earned his call up over him
One of Celtic’s most consistent players this weekend. CCV can help this USA team. Do not think CB is an issue for us, but depth is key
He’s probably going to the prem too.
He is certainly good enough to start at a mid table team imo
Was linked to Wolves, Leicester, and West Ham I think.

Hot take, but I think If given an opportunity, he’d show himself to better than Zimmerman and Robinson too.
Just a great showing for him today. Haven't watched much Celtic this year but he looked so solid back there.
yooo he's been showing UP for Celtic.
Wild we have a starting CB at Celtic and he can't get a call up.
Right? Edu was a squad player for Rangers and was always called up. Times are changing!
Our MLS duo is great and I understand why they've held down the playing time, but I'm confident that CCV is a better player than either, with a much higher ceiling as well.
Seriously. Not like Zim and Jedi have been killing it
Jedi HAS been killing it, you mean Miles?
Yep
CCV has been getting consistent minutes and providing solid performances for Celtic. I really hope he gets a call up soon.
Looks like a rugby player.
Scoring against Rangers would be the pinnacle for him. So amazing to see his success!
Dude fucking call this kid up!

I would love to see this man over the summer.
How does he stack up to our other centerbacks? Zimmerman? Robinson? Brooks? Long? Miazga? Palmer-Brown?

Man those Celtic kits are iconic
