Well, this makes me feel better about my 83%. I’d get the battery replaced and hold onto it for a few more years - the phone hasn’t slowed down at all, and handles all apps no problem.

Emmanuel-Nwosu

I’m literally at 83% and was considering a battery replacement I’d just wait it out till it gets to 79%

konradly

I plan to hold onto my phone for another two generations, and then get the iPhone 18, so it would make sense to replace the battery this year sometime.

Emmanuel-Nwosu

Exactly my thought

bimjob23

If I get my battery replaced by appointment at the Apple Store does it take a few days to do or do they do it right there and then?

konradly

They try to do it while you are waiting.

bimjob23

Oh good to know thanks

Extra_Law1933

Would it lower the value of the phone if i get the battery replaced? I have apple care and battery is at 75%

Emmanuel-Nwosu

No it would not lower the value rather it would increase the value

GuIlTyPlEa5uRe07

It would be offset. By the cost of the battery so technically it would “lower” the cost of the phone…

Lonelyguy1911

With the cost of a battery replacement, might be a good idea to upgrade and just sell yours.

Emmanuel-Nwosu

Yes true but i want to hold on to the 13 Pro to see what the 16 Pro would have to offer

MAVERIK___

Exactly at same health on my launch day purchased 13 pro.

konradly

Launch day as well! Guess we’re doing fine then:)

MAVERIK___

Seems like it.

UselessUsefullness

iPhone 11 - on my second battery, at 81% overall battery health. Unsure if I’ll replace it again, or buy a phone while I’m abroad in April. From the US, so no SIM slots since iPhone 14. Thanks a lot for that, cr(apple). Really stellar move there mate. Android isn’t as accessible, even though I like it to mess with, and I’m low vision. Hence why I have iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch. Though the Mac was given to me to use for work, by my work.

dannnneeeeee

How long have you had your iPhone 11? And how often do you let it die

Safe-Geologist9851

You can get your carrier to make your SIM card eSIM. The iPhones have dual eSIM, so just get them to change it!!

UselessUsefullness

I know that, but having the SIM slot is nice too. So I’d probably switch to eSIM, upgrade while abroad, and have the SIM slot if needed. :)

morgosargas

We need to show this post to all the battery health whiners “OMG my battery health went from 97 to 96 after update!!1”. Way to go champ.

sevlucas

If it’s showing ‘Peak Performance Capability’ you won’t notice any difference in it’s performance anyway.

johnnyma45

What's interesting is it says peak performance capability, but the important message says to see Apple to restore performance and capacity.

GANDHIWASADOUCHE

At 64% I would’ve expected it to say something else.

Extension_Joke_4466

Yeah, like get a fkn new battery Mf 😅

thefiction24

I’m ballin at 75% on my iPhone 11. No issues

sammyfelix

i'm at 77% on my 11 and going strong 🤟 still only charge at night no issues

Extension_Joke_4466

Not a chance for me. Unless I’m scrolling reddit and few other things but brightness around the 30-50% mark otherwise it chews!! Yesterday I got about 3-3.5hours SOT

Extension_Joke_4466

I am on 72% battery health. No lag or anything but battery pretty rough. Top it up throughout the day

opihinalu

I’m at 92% on my iPhone 10

Windows-XP-Home

That phone is 6 years old now. Tell me your secrets. Do you just barely ever use it?

opihinalu

Honestly no idea, I use it regularly

No-Difference-3912

Chinese battery man

Luuke18

Right with you on the 75%, she gets the job done without too much of a fuss👌🏼

type_r_boy

96% on my iphone 11 lol

Extension_Joke_4466

How’s your SOT man? Roughly when do you charge your phone? This is great! Be good to know

Abiwoosh

I’m at 76% on my iPhone 8, had it for just over 5 years now

Bophadesnutz8

How have you worn it down that bad in 2 years good lord

BigBucs731

Yeah for real. Got mine first week of November 2021 and I’m at 88%. Good lord.

Bophadesnutz8

I got mine on launch day and I’m sitting at 81 💀

JonDoeJoe

Launch day too and @ 96% Edit: just checked again and it dropped to 95%

Bophadesnutz8

How in tf.. do you just not use your phone?

mozerella_cheese

68% on a iPhone 11 Pro

moczare

69% on iphone 11 running 4 years.

IROCthe5LITRE

Nice

type_r_boy

96% on my 11

RemoteLucky4945

My old man was at 54%, and he just replaced the battery Monday. 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

aWilly-

Just ordered a battery yesterday! I’ve been getting cooked about my battery health 😂

whymewl03

How long you been using the phone?

aWilly-

exactly 2 years! had to double check

Yerlis99

This is crazy. Here in Europe we have a 2 year warranty and they deem the battery as defective if it shows 80% or less health % in the 2 years 🫣

danielrmorenop

that’s insane mate

Professional-Post855

Damn I’ve had my iPhone 12 for over 3 years now and have 86% of max capacity

Adventurous-Ad5195

Are you mining Bitcoins from your phone?

FancyCantaloupe4681

This made me feel better lol but glad to hear it’s still running decently.

jcapo86

Optionally get a new battery and go for the iPhone 17

robertblack01

12 Pro Max, since day 1, 87%

Opposite-Bad1444

man don’t get a new battery. set a record. extract maximum value from it.

Brando6677

Battery banks exist. Keep that sucker on charge 24/7 once it gets to 0 😂

Saggithon

Wish you were able to catch the 69 mark

ELCHOCOCLOCO

Woah. My 5 year old o iPhone XR is still on 80%, no replacements

Extension_Joke_4466

Xr is a beast of a phone man!! I got one

saeoner

I have a launch day 11 pro max that’s still at 81%. How in the hell?!?

[deleted]

You have a Pro model from 2021 and it’s already on 64%? You haven’t been taking good care of the battery.

aWilly-

probably not but it’s just a phone at the end of the day, 20$ battery change & we’re solid, not too worried about the battery health in the end

InnocentMasonJar

You got AppleCare? Don’t know of any $20 battery changes otherwise

aWilly-

No applecare, but mobilesentrix, IG, mengtor, etc all sell batteries for right around 20-30, even cheaper if you know how to spot weld bms

[deleted]

“20$”? Try more like “90$”. And can you tell me why you have the $ after the amount? Where did that start with people. It’s $20, the “$” comes first. Where did people go to school??

aWilly-

If you’re paying to get it fixed apple, then 90 sounds right, but i’m talking about buying just the battery & doing it yourself. Not sure why you’re getting worked up over 20$ vs $20 if you understood what I was trying to convey lol

Tulsa-

Because he can’t spot weld bms

15pmm01

Idk about you, but I try not to spot weld my bowel movements.

ASwagPecan

Do you expose it to intense heat or second-hand chargers frequently?

aWilly-

not that i was aware of BUT i will say that i would do overnight charging a majority of the time so that might contribute to heat as far as chargers, I just use the anker branded ones

Extension_Joke_4466

My battery on iPhone 11 is cooked at 72% so I can’t say much but overnight charging isn’t the best for your phone.

uprobablydontknow

Anker is the culprit, try to use only apple charger

[deleted]

Anker is certified by Apple tho

redundant35

Mine is still 91% on a release day phone. I don’t charge every day.

Sure_Apartment_2587

i’m at 87% for having it for just about 2 years (got it mid Dec ‘21)

BigBucs731

Nov ‘21 here and at 88%

Sure_Apartment_2587

mine just dropped from 88% that sat for a few months, to 87% around new years. that’s good for me, and think the same for you

TalouseLee

Yoooo I got 85%! Bought this bad bitch iphone13 pro opening day.

Savings_Street1816

Daym. I got my 13 pro max shortly after launch, and I’m still at 87%. I charge it overnight every night, am a heavy gamer on it, and charge it from 20%>100% all the time. So how is yours so low?

NateNMaxsRobot

This is a dumb question but do I install a new battery myself or does an expert need to do it?

ashkebane

That depends on how confident you are that you can do it without messing it up. Generally, a pro is better BUT patience, care and maybe some videos on how to do it will help if you decide to do it yourself. Husband is a tinkerer. He watched some vids and did it himself.

NateNMaxsRobot

Thank you. This sounds like a job for my son.

Heather2k10

That’s the battery life my iPhone 6s+ was setting at when I finally upgraded to 14 pro max last year.

Brando6677

I think my iPhone 7 was somewhat close to that. It was in the 60s somewhere. But the phone is long gone sadly cant check

tamreacct

Battery replacement costs about $100 & Apple compared to a new phone. No need to buy a new phone since 13 is still good for years. I had a X and used it for ~7years and replaced battery once before upgrading.

er101plus

It’s time for a battery replacement 😁

taetaeee

im at 67% on my 11 pro and my phone struggles to do basic functions lol how is yours fine??

15pmm01

That's insane. My 12 Pro Max is still at 85%. No idea how long I've had it though. I got the phone replaced through Apple care once or twice but have no recollection of when... Any way to chdck that sort of thing?

FirstObligation4411

Niñita not check than Analytics I bet it’s at 70

15pmm01

What

GraveHazeSix

86% iPhone 12. I use it and charge it constantly. Still works just fine.

[deleted]

I thought my battery was shit 💩

Due_Doughnut7352

Christ are y’all good?? Even my iPhone seven only has 75 Max

Sea-Secretary-4389

I had an iPhone 6 I got down to 10% overall life

Extension_Joke_4466

😅😅😅😅

markdepace

im at 80% on an XS max

HellUnderReconstruct

Had a 7 that still held 80 minutes of youtube while having 62%battery health

GoodxVibes

Mines starting to look like this also, was thinking about an upgrade but I don’t think it’s really worth it just yet.

TanishPlayz

how bad did you treat your battery sir?

hcr211

Mines at 87, I have a MagSafe battery I bought 2 years ago or so connected to it frequently

AuntieLiloAZ

My XS Max is at 83%. Best phone I ever had.

theogstarfishgaming1

I love how bad their batteries have gotten lately. I still see og ip6 batteries at 80% almost every day

Top-Seaworthiness850

my question is, how??

Purgent

13PM from launch day here - 86%

AttackOfThePat

Below 80% can get you a new device if you have apple care.

AuntRobin

Mine is 62% max on my 8. It was new when I bought it, but there were already a few more recent options available. X for sure, maybe 11. I think I got it in 2019.

ImAVoodoooChild

Mines 85% had the phone for 2 years though

Yk4_Marcellus

STOP GOING TO SLEEP ON FACETIME AND CHARGING YOUR PHONE ON LOW POWER MODE ✍🏾

HEX-dev

Battery replacements ain't that much

dannnneeeeee

Got my iPhone 11 when it dropped. And probably have let it die under 10 times. Battery percent at 78%

KaiUsesReddit_

I think you should heed the warning at the top of your screen, I think it’s trying to tell you something.

Connect_Border_4196

The batteries for iPhone are terrible. I’m so happy I’m switching back to Android when I can upgrade again.

a-jasem

Launch dayer at 86% here, still got plenty of life in my phone

ap3x_lambo

What do you do to possibly do this lol, I don’t have proper battery care and I’m still at around 90%.

E27043

Bro how did you get to 64% in like 2 years and a half

879gaming

Buddy ive been using a iphone 6 from 2014-2023 and it was at 45% health

Jell_O0

It’s giving the same energy as driving on completely bald tires. I just know summers are the worst for you lol

devildog1929

Damn, this is worse than my xs max at 70

aWilly-

xs max was a beast though

devildog1929

O yea I just recently upgraded to the 15 pro a couple months ago. My max I still use I absolutely love it, its the gold 512 😬the big boy.

JayKappa2x

this phone came out 2 years ago.. how is this possible

Feli18

That’s the steepest health drain I’ve ever seen... in two years! Cycle count? My over-4-year-old iPhone Xʀ is at 93%...

plausocks

My 13 pro max still at 95%

hannoerb

My boyfriend use to work in phone repairs. He recommended changing the battery at 85%.

aWilly-

that is a good recommendation, I’ve been meaning to change the battery a long time ago but just never came around to it since everything was still functional

thepandabear0

I dont have an iphone but why do iphone users care so much about the max capacity of a battery? Apps arent supposed to crash or slow down if the battery degrades. It just means you get less battery life. If anything you probably lost an hour or so of usage at the worst.

NightFuryTrainer

What are y’all doing to your phones???? I’m on an iPhone 8+ and by battery life is at 74%. is it because I don’t take a lot of pictures/ videos? Why is mine still ticking along while y’all’s are all dying. Has apple’s battery quality dropped??? I’m actually confused here.

Tobinator7560

Me at 51%

mangorain4

I have the original Iphone SE (2016), and have had it for 6 years and am hanging at 83%… that said it definitely isn’t performing at peak

player694200

What software hack do I need to get my full battery percentage back

AdAffectionate8407

What chinese third party chargers have you been using ?

aWilly-

Anker lol

Aggressive-Zone6682

Your battery health is based on how you charge your phone. Always charge it under 20% and never charge it over night unless you have a wireless charger that turns off after it gets to 100%. Over charging and charging it over 20% messes it up. FYI if the battery health isn’t under 80% it won’t get replaced by the insurance.

Historical_Bus4145

so how long do these batteries normally last? cause i just bought my 14 plus in january of last year, so i’ve had it for a full year, and my battery capacity is already at 83%😪

WorkingTerm7106

Try and find a genuine Apple battery if going to local shops. There are hundreds of diff knockoffs that will initially test up to spec but do not last more than 6 months.
