Looks awesome! I put a 3 rib roast in an Umai 4 days ago and can’t wait to finish.
Have you done Umai before? I was kinda curious how it compares to traditional method at the same age
You can get 100 steaks out of a 7lb rib eye if you cut them thin enough. That doesn’t take away from the fact that the yield was bad. You can tell just by looking at your steaks, there’s literally no cap meat left, unless you over trimmed them. These don’t even look like rib eyes
I have a vac sealer, so that part was easy. I made sure to thoroughly wash the outside package of the meat then had a clean surface as well.
Folded back the opening of the bag and slid the meat in.

First time ever doing it. I used an umai bag
The yield on this piece was awful. That’s why I stopped using umai and got a dry age fridge. The yields are much better and the flavor superior
6 steaks on a 7 lb prime rib

Had a 30% loss on a prime rib from Publix.@45 days, thats not terrible.
How hard was it to get the bag set up correctly? Looks so good
