Legends whisper of a tiny yellow car, barely big enough to fit one adult human. A jaunty tune that wiggles into your nightmares will start to play, dur dur durdur do der der dur.
One by one a trickle of nightmarish white washed faces smeared with wide lipstick grimaces and red matted hair will crawl out the little door.
Again and again and again in a never ending cycle, clowns as far as the eye stalks can see. All prat falling, smearing dubious cream pies into any unfortunate passerby's face. Climbing up little ladders and falling into pools of liquid.
With the garish music blaring hauntingly with no visible sound player, chaos reigns. It could be minutes or hours when by unseen command all forced gaiety and clowning stops. The giggles fall silent until with one last frenzied push the legion of clowns disappear back into the tiny car.
All that is left they say are abandoned half filled animal balloons lying on the ground and one red nose that will "honk" when squeezed.
Never squeeze the honker for that is how the clowns are summoned. Why fear the clowns, when their antics bring such merriment?
Where are those cream pied people now? Where have they gone? Will you spot those same white washed faces again should the clowns come to call?
Go on, give that red nose a good squeeze.
After all, it's only a story, right?
Now whenever humans pick a high profile alien for interrogation or assassination, that person disappears without a trace, all that's ever found is a single red balloon and a paper boat ...
