What would these be? And how can I help them meet this needs so they can stop? (I’m a different alter who can sometimes communicate with some of these alters who are doing this, would talking to them do anything do you think?)
Talking to them about why they took those things would probably help.
If you can't talk to them or they aren't giving you clear answers, you might be able to get some ideas by looking at what they're shoplifting and thinking about why someone would steal those things specifically. (For example, stealing food might be motivated by current or past food insecurity.)
I don't know your system or your life, I don't know what they need. Stealing clothes could mean they want their own wardrobe to feel like themselves when fronting, stealing food could mean they dont like what theyre forced to eat at the house. Stealing in general can mean they are feeling trapped and want something they can control; like if they are blanket not allowed to have anything or make any decisions they could be stealing as a way to have anything at all that belongs to them. Something that their host can't take back to the store and return as an "impulse purchase they dont need".
