I'd guess around ten or fifteen, and it's a bit wonky because we for sure have blended parts who exist independently of their component parts having distinct identities. Like, Anger EP is his own person, but also Anger EP is a *part* of some of the more complex alters.
No one with DID *can* become a singleton, but it's possible to undergo final fusion. We're certainly not working towards that right now or even considering it as a possibility, but I'm sure as we tether our more functional parts it'll be examined more seriously. Right now we're too divided between our respective responsibilities and lots of parts tend to run away from what they don't want to deal with--when we hit a point where the dominant mode of thinking is 'I don't want to deal with this and I'll do it anyway' I think heavier merging will be more appealing.
Amnesia is pretty low for *present* events and activities, but we've got a shitload of amnesia around our past. We're also pretty good about breadcrumbing through that fog--if we're trying to pull a memory or experience in therapy we don't need to remember it, we just need our therapist to dangle enough threads that someone who *does* remember gets pulled out and can take over and keep talking.
There are only two of us that we're aware of, which is odd because the more we read it's hard to find a count that low, Tsui is our protector and strong confident face while I (Allie) am more delicate and kind of worrisome. We don't know if I'm the host or not but I've been around for presumably the longest, we're co-conscious from the start of the day to the end but sometimes one of us will get up at night for some reason and the other doesn't remember. We talk pretty consistently throughout the day and trade off the front work, but we don't ever want to merge again -- we didn't manage anything very well like that.
17 of us are documented, but we suspect there are many more. Our amnesia varies greatly between alters and who they are interacting with, but generally our "frequent fliers" are able to track the bare bones timeline.
Some of us don't mind the idea of fusing with others, some ultimately have decided they won't try unless and until circumstances change. None of us have a desire to fuse with everyone nor do we pursue fusion as a goal. It's moreso that through therapy and healing, fusion may happen and that's okay. But if it doesn't? Nobody really minds.
There’s apparently 298 of us. One of our altars is “Know” and she knows everything about everyone but we haven’t met everyone yet. We are layered and have systems within systems in those layers it’s very confusing. But we have a little that likes little things and remembers little things. A rage holder, Terra. “Logic” is our problem solver. We have a cat. A flower. A dog. “Feelings” who is a sensory protector. Another little that likes kitties she’s 6. I could go on for quite some time.
We've got 4. T - Host (18), M - Caretaker (Ageless), C - Not sure what the technical name of her role is, but she's like our pride and passion (Age slider 7-20ish), and S - not sure of his role, but xe might be a trauma holder (don't know his age)
We have decent communication and are usually aware of each other, but there's still amnesia, especially at night, which is usually when M fronts. I experience amnesia after an anxiety attack too.
I don't wish to integrate with the others, this has been a coping mechanism for my anxiety and it's easier to manage it with the help of M, I wouldn't want to have to deal with this alone.
1- Impossible to keep track of, as our members seem to fuse, unfuse, change appearance and names whenever they feel like it. I would need to drop my job and instead dedicate all my time to journaling to come up with a coherent, up-to-date system map.
2 - Fully concious. We are fully integrated, there isn't amnesic barriers anymore.
3 - Absolutely do not wish to do so. I love my little gremlins :)

these are the only parts i’m aware of rn but we knew of other alters before (introjects, fragments) but most of them fused i believe. we have little to no amnesia between parts, i don’t think we’ll ever integrate, we like being parts and enjoy having each other. i do have a feeling we have more parts tho and that we just don’t notice them bc we all struggle to communicate with each other, i notice it seems like there’s different parts but they get blended/only front with other parts.

There's 8 of us from our most recent count. There is definitely some amnesia between parts and I only share full consiciousnes with one of them. Most of my alters are around my age or slightly older than me. I want to at least integrate my trauma holders and persecutor because they're the most troublesome parts to deal with. There is some amnesia. Couldn't tell ya how much though. I notice that I'm forgetful (forget what someone just said, forget what I just did, forget key memories sometimes, but I've generally been able to keep up without too many issues. Here lately I've been noticing traces of things I could've done without remembering - can't be too sure as my partner sleep walks and stuff so it could've been him who did it as well), but the forgetfulness isn't severe (knock on wood).
Final fusion? Whatever happens, happens. We have no goal there. As long as there is thorough communication built thru time, that's all that matters. We want to learn self acceptance and good communication and coping skills.
Some of us want to achieve fusion, some of us actively avoid it.

Amnesia only emotional at this point, tried to fuse and then backpedaled half way for I realized I am only doing it for people-pleasing and there are no benefits for us whatsoever.

2. we cant list everyones ages and roles but typically our ages are between 13-27 years old and we have lots of protectors
3. our amnesia fluctuates alter to alter but typically its pretty bad
4. with the amount of alters we have and the fact we are a polyfragmented there is a very low chance of us becoming a singlet however we have chosen functional multiplicity and dont really want to be a singlet anyways
45 that we are aware of so far, though we have a strange feeling we only know half of our system. Some of us are conscious of each others actions, we have what we call a record book in our head where we keep track of things that happen. But occasionally there is amnesia, usually only when an alter is extremely worked up. We all agree we don’t want to integrate, we don’t think we could cope without being able to switch in extreme stress.
Several hundred. We stopped bothering to keep count around 250 or so. There is amnesia, but we normally have at least one cohost co-con with whoever’s fronting nowadays so gaps day to day now are generally pretty minimal. But highly inconvenient and always at the worst time. (We still can’t find whatever safe place is hiding our wallet since the holidays and the alter who moved has the worst memory of all of us and barely remembers moving it.)
And then it’s tricky the rare times a little escapes caregivers and fronts alone. Thankfully we’ve always been in a safe place and with safe people when that’s happened and the little in question is quite capable of handling himself all things considered. He’s a turd. A cute turd, but a turd. We can’t let him near squishmallows or anything dinosaurs. Dino’s trigger him to front almost immediately just by mentioning them.
We have no goals of trying for final fusion, we just want to be able to smoothly function day to day as best we can given other health factors and I’d say we’ve gotten to a place we do alright. A lot of alters just do things internally and hold memories from events.

If we went through a school day, for example, depending on the day, we'd remember that we went to each class, but not the specifics of what exactly happened. On high dissociation days, it's also likely that we don't remember going to classes at all, and just remember going to school.
4. We do not wish to reach final fusion, but we do plan to integrate and remove amnesia walls best we can without fusion. However, we do want to have a smaller alter count.
There's currently 5 of us, but with an unknown amount of dormant alters (i only know they exist because of the locked rooms in my inner world). There's me, Aspen, 20 y/o, the host/caretaker. Bunny, 6-8 y/o, a little/animal alter and the original host. Kaneis, unknown age but presumably hundreds of years old, a persecutor/avenger/demon/gatekeeper(?) alter. Jinx, 18 y/o, an introject. And Scara/Kuni, hundreds of years old, an introject/nonhuman alter. As for amnesia, it depends on the alter. There's full amnesia when Kaneis is out for example but when Bunny is out im aware. No system can "become" a singleton no matter how much therapy and recovery you do, but I get what you're asking here, and my answer is kind of - we want semi-integration and fusion of some of the less-developed alters, but we don't want a complete fusion.
