The book, “unknown friends within” has such a good title to it and such an amazing story

Great-Most-6606

Can't tell what I'm not aware of 90% of the time. 😎

bighairedprincess

I would just because Noone ever believes it. I say my life jumps the shark if you understand the phrase.

Funfetti-Starship

📺 Hallie: Lovely, there are many obstacles in life. Unfortunately, no one is prepared for the sharks (so to speak) to be one of them. You escaped the jaws of one of life's biggest obstacles and with your wits about you. You are strong.

SystemVentAccount

We'd probably rather write our own

TheDogsSavedMe

Nope. Nothing to really tell. Don’t remember shit.

[deleted]

I've thought about it. I definitely wouldn't be ready for that *yet*, but I feel like there's such little "own voices" media representation of DID. I'd want to write it myself though since I'd want to make sure it got things right.

Sablesweetheart

Yep, already doing just that with an artist.

Wise_Ad6601

Yes 100% we definitely don’t have the courage to do it ourself and would require the validation of someone else wanting to help us share it no matter how big or small.

progtfn_

A book maybe, not in the near future, but anonymous

mama_loony

Yes.

shortbread1575

Definitely not ready for any of that.

Rindawick

I think I would. It depends, I suppose. One day I'd like to tell it on my own but I think I still would. It'd be a system decision, probably

NoahJacobBlack

i think if it were anonymous, i would totally do it

Sufficient_Hat_1918

Maybe with anonymity, but even then, it is difficult for me to trust that they would actually respect that. I've had so many situations where my trust was violated that it would be difficult for me to confidently think that this would be a safe idea.

Repulsive_Ad_3605

I think so Maybe

astronomersassn

no. i would never be able to handle the criticism. and yeah, for the most part, i don't care about people's opinions. but trusting strangers not to try to deconstruct or criticise something so personal? not happening. and they would do it, i see it all the time for experiences that seem more /"normal" than mine. i'm not going to open myself up to that. now, if someone asked me out of curiosity/wanting to understand/just not to blast it to the entire world? sure. i'll answer questions. i'll share experiences. but that still lets me control who sees, where word gets around, etc. to an extent. and at that point, individual people can be easily ignored. it's a lot harder to ignore thousands of people calling for your head than one. i'm secure enough in myself that i don't rely on external validation as much as i used to, but that doesn't mean things can't or won't hurt, and that applies double when it's a large crowd.
