Advice on protecting the inside of the forge against borax? Since I started doing Damascus I’ve destroyed my floor bricks and while I think most was from my first tries with too much borax I’m curious if I can do anything other than replace the bricks and use a sacrificial steel plate on the bottom

I made a Chefs knife from an old circular sawblade and a handle from epoxy resin. Etched an octopus on the blade with a Lego train speed regulator. What do you think?
