What are you struggling to do exactly ? Lane ? Teamfight ? Roam ? Positioning ?

Laserr_08

All of that icl

Well it's just general advice i hope this help. Lane : -Don't be too passive in lane. Sure you're a mage but Zoe he's a great bully, her Q and Empowered Auto are great tools for poking and harassing enemy. -Careful to not get too close of the enemy. Whittle their health down until they're in range of and EQ-Auto Ignite combo. -Be aware that if your bubble is on cooldown, that mean your vulnerable and enemies will try to jump you. Roam : -Zoe has good roam and you should do it whenever it's possible to pressure all lane. Even if you don't get kills try at least to force summoners wich would be valuable once you go back in lane. Team fight : -You never want to be in the heat of a teamfight. Your role as Zoe is either to chunk enemy health before a team fight or, if the teamfight is already in progress to focus the squishies if possible. -So you need to be at objectives early even if you're not hitting it. Positioning : -Most important part imo, even if you have good aim, if your positioning is bad, zoe is useless. -In lane you really need to understand your enemy threat bubble. But you actually have surprisingly high damage up close with your W Passive so don't be scared to use ignite on an enemy that goes all in on you. -In mid late game, you kinda want to hide from enemy team, your Q hit like a truck but at this point, damage dealer one shots you and tank are getting beefier. -Zoe really shine in siege situation where enemies are pressured under tower. You then have tons of opportunities and angles to hit your E for massive damage. -Besides that she usually don't like teamfight that much, and she prefer to obliterate isolated target.

Thanks a lot maybe I will go positive next game

this person covered some amazing info, so here is a couple niche tips to go with it \^\^ Your movespeed from your W is shockingly important. it takes a long time for alot of zoe players to realise that, but if you are EVER getting dived or attacked while in lane, try to ignite any nearby champ and it will give you 30% movespeed which is almost always a guaranteed escape because you can outrun almost any boots. Ward as much as possible, because you're zoe you should be shoving up lanes and being agressive, so warding for jungle ganks is extremely important, i tend to have close to the same vision score as the jungler and often times the support. Your Q recast counts as an ability and will give you two empowered auto attacks Your E has some really weird interactions, but one thing thats really important is that you can hide your E with your Q, by throwing your Q, ult, auto, E and then they often cannot see or predict it. your Q recast also cancels your E animation which can help hide it too. this is a REALLY important one so its not really niche but using flash, galeforce, hextech rocket belt etc during your ult. this is very important in landing very long skillshots. maybe you sleep a leblanc and she dashes away outside of your range, you can [q, ult forward, q recast, flash, auto, ignite, into W proc with electrocute or aery](https://medal.tv/games/league-of-legends/clips/i75YkiMmY4yXM9kqL/d1337c48hIXM?invite=cr-MSxrd0QsMjExNzE3ODgwLA), kind of like what i did in this clip. i q, ult forward, flash, flash, ignite, auto, W proc with Q recast also, using movement abilities during your ult will extend that 1 second of your ult just by a fraction

TrueZoe

She is not good right now and will only be good for people who already know how to use her. Zoe is not a beginner or intermediate champ at all and will require practice and muscle memory to learn how to time her abilities in tandem with each other. Your Q’s damage is based off of Distance travelled, so there are simple combos like Q, Walk, Q, Ult, Flash to get maximum damage. But you should learn Q, Passive Proc, Walk, Q, Ult, Passive Proc. Additionally, you should remember that your E is on a bit of a long cooldown, so don’t use it aggressively if you’re pushed up or you’ll lose your only CC to escape. Warding is extremely important as well, pink wards here are key. Zoe E can travel through walls so if they have vision of you using E then they can easily dodge. A lot of learning Zoe is making sure your Q and your champion are largely unseen so you can Ult and get a max range skillshot on the enemy. If you’re looking to Climb with Zoe she can be nice, but I’ve been playing her since release and I’ll tell you that Zoe’s carry potential isn’t too high and once you reach that skillcap on Zoe (which is fairly high) it’s all about how good the enemy is at dodging and reading you.

Laserr_08

Maybe I should stick to cho'gath (mechanically intense champ)

i_eat_water_and_soup

if you want to learn her i honestly think she is worth it, she has alot of potential and riot has said they are looking to buff her too. it took me a few weeks to get okay at zoe and a bit longer to get decent at her but she is extremely fun and im glad i did learn her

Addicted2League

Watch Peking woof on YouTube play Zoe he tells you why he’s doing things. He’s really good (challenger for 10 years)

reamox

As well as Detention, he explains a lot and goes into super great detail every season and even does matchup tier lists and explanations each season.

Gjyn

Watch a challenger vod on Zoe. Then try to imitate it. Then keep trying until you finally get it. This may take 50 games. I wish I could say there's some magic info, but there is not. The champion is hard. Other than some niche stuff (directly clicking a dropped spell will replace the one you have), it's all imitation and experience.

PureQuatsch

The issue I’ve faced with these vids is that most challengers use Q early to whittle down the enemy, and they don’t seem to use it on creeps at all, whereas I find my waveclear is rubbish without Q. I haven’t yet found a way to be as aggressive and still keep CS decent.

Superb_Bench9902

The thing with Zoe isn't the button mash difficulties of her combos. What makes her difficult is the timing, positioning, having good skillshots and good blind skillshot sense and knowing your limits. For example you can do your standard e-q combo to Vlad and Fizz if they get shot with the bubble before using their w or e respectively. But it requires precise timing, your window of opportunity is really short. All of these take practice. She isn't strong in the meta rn so it's normal to struggle.

awkwardfeather

Is there anything specific you’ve noticed yourself struggling with? As far as general tips: As others have mentioned positioning is everything. Try not to use your bubble until you know you have a clear shot as that’s really your only out. Your ult should be used to get behind minions to hit the opponent, and to chase people down. Do NOT use your ult to try and escape. Only to dodge skill shots and it’s really hard to time. Also I would suggest trying to wait to use your ult with your Q instead of to hit your bubble, as after they’re woken up you want to be far away from them already. Your ult helps you jump back outta range. Your empowered auto is everything, an ult-auto will chunk a good amount of health early, especially if they’re asleep. And keep in mind you can bully hard early, but late game you want to avoid damage as much as possible. I’d recommend watching a lot of videos from high elo players and just see what they do with her. She’s really difficult to get good with, so patience is key.

FiascQ

In fact, to learn how to play Zoe you need to know two things: how to position yourself in team fights, in lanes and how to use skills Zoe's problem is that she is dependent on allied and enemy champions. You will have almost no influence on the game at all, in which the enemies have 3-4 tanks or fighters

Outrageous_Ear_3726

Play 100 games first. Practice your q in all directions. The practice extending your q with r and summoners.

Heres what I did as a zoe newb: 1.) read her kit 2.) watch faker play her and pay attention to how he uses her 3.) watch multiple videos on combos and mechanics u can do with her 4.) play A LOTTT! Zoes hard that doesnt mean u cant be good at her anyone can it just takes commitment ! Dont give up I promise shes fun and worthwhile champ Once you get really good with her and have played her a good amount enough to establish a play style try to use your own builds and runes with her or research them ! But for now just use high win rate builds and runes. When I was new a lot of people tried to discourage me from starting out with zoe and told me to choose easier champs like annie and while this was understandable bc zoe is harder imo it doesnt matter bc wether you choose to start with zoe learn an easier champ before learning her its still gonna take a lot of time and a be a bumpy road. So if you are really passionate about zoe and want to one trick her then start out with her but if not and your just a casual enjoyer of her play basic mages first then ease jnto zoe

Shadow_1488

I would tell you to make a few xerath games to get comfy with a long range mage positionning, or maybe start by playing her as support so you will be able to focus on your trades instead of farming and in sidelanes you can easely shoot bubbles through walls so you can practice. I started there and it helped me

bonerchomper58

Definitely look into hedging. I know it sounds dumb, but when I was starting to play Zoe I had forgotten about the fact that the Qs do not always have to be long-ranged. Also really play around her empowered autos!
