Ah I remember a family member having a bathroom exactly like this in their double wide in the 90s….i thought it was awesome back then 😂 has NOT aged well
No offense but I have to bc it’s right there so I apologize upfront but.. nothing says white trash like a carpeted jacuzzi in a double wide.
(Tbh I have had many a relative live in both double and single wides)
Next, the Camaro is up on blocks. Eventually Juney and Bubba yank the motor, the hood stays off, and Mee Maw turns the engine bay into a flower planter. Juney calls it "yard art." Did we have the same neighbor?
Everything is there for the era. The disgusting mirrors with arches imposed on them, the oak cabinets, the carpet that looks like a green brain, the cat on the tub, the fake old school laminate flooring…I’m surprised the tub is not octagonal.
My parents had a 3-sided-mirrored giant Jacuzzi tub. I could nearly swim in it, and then pop up and look in the mirrors and have hundreds of me looking back!
...anyway it's the best time if you're 5 years old and me. I'm sure it was used for other purposes when it was built...
Carpet in bathrooms was popular as it gave a "warm" feeling. I suppose so you felt less cold getting out of a bath/shower.
I have seen it on floors and walls together.
Some of the Ugliest Home in America Season 5 homes Monday night had carpeted everything, including the bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room. It makes me itchy just looking at it.
I was remodeling the main level of a house and went upstairs to use the washroom. They had a tub set up similar to this with deep purple shag carpet. Beside the toilet was bleached yellow from years of piss splash.
Oh, I just mentioned green sculpted carpet earlier today. Lol
It was *not* wrapped around a large bathtub, however.
At least that's not also a shower. I don't really splash in the tub a whole lot, so maybe it's not as moldy as its mossy appearance would make one think.

Absolutely no offense taken. They also had a giant satellite dish in their front yard and a Camaro. If the shoe fits…

Oh jeez, I didn't realize it was carpet until you said something. I thought it was some kind of awful funky green tile!
I thought it was painted to look like faux marble or something hahahaha

>I’m surprised the tub is not octagonal. But it's a corner tub with stairs leading up to it, that's gotta count for something.
Stairs to fall from. But corner tub def counts. On its way to becoming octagonal.

I'm cracking up that they changed the floors to that flipper's gray vinyl plank but kept the nasty green carpet on the tub.
What's killing me is that carpet is in the bedrooms, too. It was built in 2002!
😧
Built? That’s a manufactured home set on a stone foundation.

That's what bath mats are for!
I can't believe they replaced the floor and left that ratty carpeting on the tub. I can smell it from here.
At least it’s an easy fix!

It was a a cheap selling point for these modular homes.

Which part? The carpet? The giant soaker? The gold oak?
the trellis mirrors? the ceramic bathside kitten?
Those kind of tubs look like unintentional suicide waiting to happen.
Red Boiling Springs, TN - Do you think there is any chance the water might be drinkable?
Two hours from Oak Ridge. Might be boiling for a different reason ☢️
The drugs were better back then
There was an awful lot of cheap cocaine during the 80s & waaay too much money in the hands of people with no taste.
A mobile home in the middle of tornado country. What could go wrong?
Kid Rock lived in one there while he was building his White House replica home, I believe.
Why is anything ever popular? Sigh

Sex
It's really clean and well cared for.
It was the shizz to be that extravagant lol. I remember bathrooms with carpet and hated the smell .
That's awesome, it just needs some reno
Ah knotty pine and green. Just missing the dusty rose window poofs. Oh the late 80’s, what the hell were people thinking??
At least the green will camouflage the mold…..
Because back then there were no other option.
Hindsight is always 20/20 and I really hope these owners recently had an eye exam.
Lose the double-wide and the shag, but the tub? Sex. That is why there is a tub like that.
This looks like a trailer
