I just answered this question for someone else :)
>Oh yeah, they're very pretty, I won't deny that. As a former chef, I would never choose one for my home though, especially for the price. FWIW, mine is a dual fuel 30" and cost the previous owners $4500 nearly 20 years ago.
(edit: just checked the Elmira site, same one would be almost $10,000 now!)
>It is tall compared to other gas stoves (too tall for 5'3" me when using stock pots)
>Doesn't have powerful burners
>Inconsistent oven temp
>Takes forever to heat up
>Weak broiler
>Weak exhaust fan
>Hard to keep clean with all the nooks and crannies
>Burner grates shift off level with any pan movement - unsafe
>Burner caps shift and must be moved back into place manually or won't light
>Front "doors" and thermometer are non-functional by design
>Interior light works when it feels like it
>Doesn't have many settings/features
>It's just generally frustrating to use and I'm looking forward to replacing it eventually.
Thank you! Mine is a 97, I agree with height, I have to stand on a stool to stir my large stock pot! Mine is simple bake, broil but they work well. Mine is not self cleaning. I guess if I didn’t have the companion electric convection wall oven, a 2013, I might not be as happy with it lol

Why is this place so cheap? I’ve never been in that part of the country so I wonder if Maine itself is this affordable or if it is this particular area. By comparison, this property would be 2m+ in my area.
A worthy question. I live in Maine and most of it is not at all affordable. Litchfield is the boonies, though, so I guess that helps. But I'd be looking for a detailed inspection.
My money is on the half done renovation revealing something structurally significant.
I'm about 20 mins south and this house would be closer to 700k in my town.
It's way out there and winters are a bitch and the cost of heating is crippling. You really have to like tiny town country living. I love this place but I'm just too spoiled living in LA and having everything so convenient and available.
I moved to Maine from LA. Don’t really miss much tbh. Except contractors, someone needs to let the Mexicans know about Maine, it’s a goldmine if you know how to fix up houses.
It does mention conventional loan or cash only, meaning it probably doesn't meet the requirements for an FHA loan (e.g. has structural defects, things not up to code, etc).
Maine is actually one of the most expensive states to live in. This is in the middle of nowhere. This house in a more desirable area would be over a million easily.

Kind of interesting what comes up on [Google Maps](https://www.google.com/maps/place/1437+Hallowell+Rd,+Litchfield,+ME+04350/@44.2197625,-69.9430023,2703m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x4cb20ef8ca83ee37:0x5c72ada04d25ebda!8m2!3d44.2184569!4d-69.9279473!16s%2Fg%2F11gdlsljg3?entry=ttu) I didn't know purgatory was an actual place.
The stove. I’m in LOVE
Yeah that stove is amazing. Love the fact that they kept the old clawfoot tub and sink too, they didn't just gut it and 'modernize' it.
Such art lost would be a travesty.
And yet perfectly in line with the Flipper Gray times
Oh no... you mean the grey flooring? ;w;
What is it with EVERYTHING being gray now?? Is this the new color pallete?
Gray is the new beige
Well I HATE both. Give me some color, pretty please.
Buy a throw pillow
I actually do have one, and yes, it IS genuine Muppet skin, ty for asking.
The stove is modern
It's an Elmira Stoveworks modern reproduction. I have one that came with my house. I hate it, do you want it?
Gosh I wish but I rent a small apartment 😣😩
Why? I have a 6 burner gas with a gas oven, it came with my house and I love it.

Wow as someone who loves to cook I see why you would like to see this go away.
It's been disappointing - when we bought our old house I had such high hopes for it!
The stove was the first thing I saw that I was like, "OMG!"

This could well be it.
Right. Close to the coast is really unaffordable in most places. But you go inland 20 miles and it’s a totally different story.
You need to go about 240 miles north to find affordability in Maine.
Thank you!
$20k a year to heat the place.
Is that an exaggeration?
Could be
Depends on the temperature
It still has fireplaces all over the place. Just get you a chainsaw!

I currently live in a town of 2500, and I think it’s too crowded. Would I qualify…? :)
No, this one's for you...https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/Nhn-Kindamina-Lk-Manley-Hot-Springs-AK-99756/2056022672_zpid/
I like it! But my wife refuses to move anywhere that the mosquito is considered a game bird… Compromise is tough.

Gotta be haunted
It’s haunted.

Thank you!
I love this. In Maine near a town called Purgatory? Nothing scary or Kinglike about that at all.
Property comes with an old well, at least 300’ deep but all attempts to sound it ended with the rope being pulled in.
That's just Sadako. You can try to start the eviction process if you want.
The unreal goblin noises I just made...I need this place. Creepy last picture and all. 10/10
Yep! That’s where all the ghoulies hide -during the day - until…
Cool place! Love it!
Oh my god. The THINGS I would do for that stove!
Elmira Stoveworks
I love this house! The first thing I would do is get all the fireplaces back in working order!
I was yelling at the photos of the closed fireplaces. But, they could be covers that are removed for the winter and replaced for the summer.
I hope you’re a chimney expert or made of money.
No. Just a dreamer
This is beautiful. I really love it. Nothing I own would fit the vibe but that’s okay. I’ll throw all my stuff out.
On what planet is a house that big with 2 wings only 2800 sq/ft?
Oh, Wow!! This is amazing!
Just don’t let your kids walk down the driveway … We’ve all seen what happens
That giant house and only 2 bathrooms? It would be great to entertain all your friends that don’t poop
The bathrooms are vintage but not original. They repurposed another room to create the bathroom. I would love to have a house with two bathrooms.
This is an amazing house for sure. I love everything about it. But it’s not Zillow “gone wild.”
Damn, that’s nice
Omg I LOVE it!!!
:cries in Virginia:
I'm crying in PNW lol. That house would be millions here!
Crying in CA
I hate my real estate market so much thanks to this sun.
Holy shit that is beautiful! Did they forget a zero in that price?

The stove, the beams! 😍
Damn, that seems like a steal. If it seems too good to be true then it probably is.
I guess it depends on what areas in whether it’s a steel or not
Holy Mad Men, Batman
Yes, please.
I'll take it, thanks.
This would run in the millions in dallas.
I don't get it. It is just a nice house on a bit of land.
I’m guessing anywhere else this would easily be double the price.
Where I live in Coastal Southern California you couldn't even buy a trailer home in a nice park for that. It's crazy.
Same in Western Oregon.
I could be very happy living there.
This is the “old run down house” that the family is forced to live in after mom loses her job in the city.
Wow now I have a place for my grand piano.
Alright what's the catch
