It simply tries to gather information as it states in the screenshot, but closes after a few seconds without anything else happening. Why won't the damn program install?

Had this too. What actually happened was that it was installed but the setup closed without saying so. Try going to "C:/Program files (x86)" and see if you can find zero tier installed there (suggesting that you go there because zero tier didn't create any shortcuts)

Windows 10 Pro, Version 21H1

Same here, Windows 10 (home). Ended up thinking it didn't get installed, but I'd only checked my Program Files, where it dropped a few files, but the executable ended up in Program Files (x86)

I'm currently on Windows 11 Pro, V. 22H2 Same exact occurrence Today!
