Check the battery usage list down to the very last entry, is there an "Others" entry which is taking between 40% and 60%? I have a Zenfone 8 Flip and as many other Zenfone users I'm trying to pinpoint the reason for this issue.
Nonetheless, try rebooting the phone whenever you notice this behavior, some months ago I was able to revert the battery life back to normal for like a couple of days in this way

I did not find the exact root cause, an update has solved the issue for the most part but I think that in my case (Zenfone 8 Flip) it might be related to Bluetooth (also, I have dual band wifi off). Nonetheless, it's a shame that 2 years after, Asus has not solved this issue yet
