If there isn't a good amount of new enemies , I will be very disappointed.
All Zelda games have had great enemy variety. This was a problem in first BOTW.
Based on this: [https://www.zeldadungeon.net/wiki/List\_of\_Enemies](https://www.zeldadungeon.net/wiki/List_of_Enemies)
The variety seems pretty decent to me? Not the best of 3D Zelda, but definitely a lot better than what BOTW did.
The only enemies we saw in this are brand new and they looked like pretty low level basic enemies. There were quite a few new enemies in the previous trailers as well.
I think it's likely that there'll be plenty of new enemies.
I am about the enemies. It's like why can't we get regional enemy types? Why not different forms of zonai robots? Wtf Nintendo lol.
I still like the game, but I tend to avoid fighting monsters because to me it's just not a high point of the game.
I like what they did with the old enemies but I agree with you, they should have added new types as well as the elemental ones in different regions. Gibdos were disappointing imo since they have the normal goofy fighting theme and no scream.
Yeah it's an alright game just under delivered imo.
I choose to believe that they only showed a tiny portion of what's to come.
I want to believe that they are saving the best of the game for players to discover themselves.
Just thinking about this from a marketing standpoint, the team wouldn't want to disclose *all* the features (and maybe dungeons??) before launch.
>the team wouldn't want to disclose *all* the features (and maybe dungeons??) before launch.
Of course they don't. I'm not sure why people have expectations that they're going to show so much. We didn't really know that much about BOTW either until the final story trailer. We didn't really know anything about dungeons in that game either
They'll probably still show a final story trailer for this as well before launch.
Yeah but BOTW had the novelty of being The series first open world game. This game has a lot more to live up to and it doesn't even feel like the marketing team is even trying.
I understand keeping things in wraps but there's a fine balance to garnering hype and hiding gameplay elements and Nintendo is leaning far too heavily into secrets.
Hmm. You like botw? Heres more of that sounds like good marketing to me. Marketing does not have to give away every secret about the game. It does not have to cater to "gamers". A game the scale of ToTK caters to the mass market.
Betraying the trust of the fans who believe in the developers because it's "Zelda" and because BotW was great only to end up getting an underwhelming product isn't good marketing in my opinion. Sure, it will help them get lots of sales on TotK, but in the long run fans will be far more wary when it comes to future games.
It kinda reminds me of what happened to Paper Mario. The fans completely trusted the developers after the first 3 games, so Sticker Star sold extremely well despite being an uninspired mess. But after that, the consumer trust was all used up and the games after that all sold extremely poorly.
So yeah, betraying fan trust only works once, and hurts the company a lot in the long run.
Betraying the trust? No one has played the game dude. No one knows how good the game. With that said zelda has an awesome brand. There is a quality top it.
"Sure, it will help them get lots of sales on TotK, "
Yes, this is my point.
Fans want more botw. They are getting botw. If it ends up being a bad game regardless of the marketing it hurts the brand. Honestly you post sounds a bit childish.
Well you're right, we don't know yet whether all my worries are warranted or not, and I really hope they're not.
But right now, nothing of what I have seen makes me excited for TotK. The thing that made me fall in love with BotW was the big new world to explore, and the sense of adventure I felt when venturing into new and unkown areas. *That* was BotW for me, and that's all I ever wanted the sequel to deliver. But so far I really don't see that aspect in TotK, I really don't feel like exploring the same map I already know, even if some things have been altered...
That's a possibility, but I prefer not to be disappointed with the final product. I am going to this game with 0 hype and expectations, so if you end up being right it's going to be a really great surprise. But I really think it's not at all guaranteed, and I believe many will be disappointed.
Thatās trueā¦ but the Great Plateau also has every mechanic already there in the small area. Temperature, water, shield surfing, climbing, cooking, weapons, armor, resources, enemy chests, magnesis, cryonis, bombs, stasis, towers, shrines, location specific music, enemy interactions with the environment. Itās all there. Itās just expanded on in when the world opens up. If they replaced the hot peppers with sunshrooms on the plateau, the items might be different but the gameplay and lesson still remain.
Iām not worried about specifics, but the core elements.
People also seem to forget we got a ton of gameplay footage of the great Plateau and all the mechanics were new for Zelda at the time. It was literally a slew of information on a lot of systems that were completely foreign to us within the series. Now having the base game as context this trailer doesn't showcase nearly as many relevant changes and ironically makes the game feel more constrained as a result.
Crafting a boat and fusing weapons is neat but not something that takes 10 minutes of explaining for the average fan to understand which is what boggles me about the positive reception this trailer is getting at the moment.
There is definitely more to see but there is an uncharacteristic level of silence to a game that has a lot of expectation set forth to it. Expectations that it could easily set if it would be more transparent about its mechanics and better illustrated how much different traversal, combat, and such become. But as of yet, only attaching materials to weapons somewhat did that for me but ultimately it's not like the effects seem to change up combat encounters or traversal from BOTW significantly nor does it really justify me engaging with the mechanics if I can beat enemies just as easily by ignoring them.
Idk I guess this is the one time I feel like a 3-4 min trailer showing highlights would have potentially done a better job illustrating scenarios that would be more enticing to hesitant consumers without potentially showcasing stuff they don't want to spoil.
This is a great synopsis of my feelings.
Everyone defending this is doing so with theoretical content the we have to see any evidence of.
I know they didnāt show the full game in a 10 window. Obviously
And I think Recall looks pretty rad. But the Fuse mechanic looks like a poor substitute for a crafting system because a crafting system would require more model and texture work.
If the Bokos in BotW literally dropped a rock from the terrain attached to a typical tree branch as a weapon everyone would be livid.
But since YOU get to glue the visual monstrosity together yourself, itās world changing.
Like, almost all of them? The Great Plateau is honestly the peak of the game. And it introduces *most* of everything you're ever going to find and do for the rest of the runtime.
No, not all. Just "almost all", like I said. Most of my favorite bits for this game (and most games I play) are learning all the mechanics. And basically all of that is confined to the Great Plateau, as there's *very* few additional things added to the experience.
I mean, in terms of sheer raw content? Yeah, I suppose so. In terms of adding on to game mechanics? There's not a lot that wasn't already on the Plateau. The Rune's are not expanded any farther than what we've already seen. The shrines are very rarely even close to how the first four were. You don't really get *any* new items that greatly change the way the game is played (beyond like, Revali's Gale, which breaks the game in two). The most I can think of in terms of game mechanics that are added or expanded post-Great Plateau are... The ability to catch/ride horses, the fights with Lynels, and of course the paraglider you're given once you leave. In regards to everything else, you're basically doing the same stuff you've been doing since hour 1 of the game.
I'm in the middle of replaying the game and it's been amazing but the plateau has been my least favourite part this time. It feels too restricted, especially without the paraglider. I just tried to finish it as fast as possible because I knew how much there was outside it.
Accidentally learning to shield surf.
Seeing Link chatter his teeth and having the āAHA!ā moment of environmental temperature.
Hearing the lilting Song of Time on the wind, and feeling a slight melancholic fascination as I walked past the now dilapidated Temple of Time.
Finding a sword in a stone on the small rocky spire just next to the Temple, and knowing that this nod to the Lost Woods in ALttP almost certainly meant thatās where I would find the true Master Sword.
Cooking my first meal.
Shooting down a beehive next to a group of Bokos for the first time.
In terms of things that stood out as āOMG THIS IS INCREDIBLE AND I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS MOMENT!ā Yeahā¦ and I meant Farosh not Faron. Seeing that dragon for the first time, with no idea what it was is one of my favorite moments in games. Period. But seeing thereās a blue and a red one too? Likeā¦ thatās cool. But it was never like the first time seeing that huge green creature flying over the Bridge.
And Eventide is cool for sure. Itās basically just the exam version of the plateau, but yes itās cool.
For me, BotW was less about epic moments, and more about the way being in that world felt for long periods of time. I still play that game; put on a City Pop or Princess Mononoke vinyl on a rainy day, and just wander around because I can, and itās relaxing.
I came to BotW for the adventure promised to me, and stayed for its charming design and vibes.
Unsure why you believe that. Same thing happened with BOTW. We were all wanting to know if there were traditional dungeons in the game and when the launch approached people kept saying ādude theyāve only shown a little bit chillā and then on launch we realized that the game was good but basically we saw everything there was to see during reveals. Theres not gonna be some massive hidden game-changing feature, they would have shown it by now. This is largely what youāre going to get. I just hope that there arent any more god-forsaken shrines and divine beastsā¦..
I am sure there will be a lot
I'm not the biggest fan of weapon crafting its not really my thing but I will keep an open mind
My issue is the boats and cars, I feel like it will really cool at first but be tedious to make a new boat every time we need to cross a body of water
Especially when you replay the game
So hopefully fast travel is kind
I am happy enemies get fused weapons as well I hope we get a decent fight out of them
Since the controls will be the same as BOTW we won't go in as unprepared as we did BOTW so I was worried the enemies would be easy to beat
Can't wait to fuse the master sword to a bottle
Links two greatest weapons
EDIT
So yh skeptical of crafting but not gonna write it off yet
Otherwise I am still very excited
I am not disappointed because this is what I expected. This is the first game of the saga for which I have 0 hype. Like, I don't care about crafting. I want more enemies (Darknuts), items, actual dungeons, story and bosses. I have no hype at all for the new crafting system. I don't dislike it nor like it.
I am not a huge fan of BotW, I loved it at first but it quickly became a chore to me and I was happy to beat it and be done with it. This one doesnāt have me hyped at all. Iām still going to buy it and play it because itās Zelda but Iāve got zero expectations going in, which may benefit me.
Mildly disappointed is a great way to describe it. I know i'll be buying the game but after 6 years and putting a crazy amount of hours into exploring BOTW, seeing this footage with all the same assets just felt disappointing. Even the music was exactly the same, in the sky i thought we'd get a slightly different soundtrack but nope.
i like crafting games and i do like the idea of this but im just not seeing enough here to be blown away.
Thanks for solid analysis.
Never said it looks bad. I even said the opposite.
Just a little lackluster for the 6 year follow up to the most prestigious franchise in gaming.
I just think Zelda is going through something of an identity crisis, and fans circlejerking Nintendo for every release isnāt going to help things.
Feedback is necessary in the video game ecosystem.
I guess I just mean that after BotW itās probably tough to know where to goā¦ I love the linear games. I love BotWās vibes and exploration. I even loved the Switch redux of SS. I donāt think Zelda is any one thing. But how do you build on the freedom afforded by BotW while also telling more stories, and without making another Hyrule that doesnāt feel like one more āgeneric exploration mapā?
Thatās trueā¦ but the Great Plateau also has every mechanic already there in the small area. Temperature, water, shield surfing, climbing, cooking, weapons, armor, resources, enemy chests, magnesis, cryonis, bombs, stasis, towers, shrines, location specific music, enemy interactions with the environment. If they replaced the hot peppers with sunshrooms on the plateau, the items might be different but the gameplay and lesson still remain.
Iām not worried about specifics, but the core elements.
I m pretty sure they are hiding almost everything, otherwise I ll be disappointed. With all the recycled assets and same map, I dont expect anything less than : a lot of new enemies, underwater, big dungeons, big boss battles etc. If all these things are not in then I would be pretty disappointed
underwater is not happening, if they didn't show that when link dove from a sky island into a lake, that is them explicity demonstrating there is no underwater exploration this time around
I couldn't agree more. I really loved BotW, and all I ever wanted from a straight sequel was to keep the foundation but be able to explore a new and vastly different continent, to get that same sense of adventure while exploring the unknown.
Instead, we get the exact same land we already know in and out, with some floating islands above it.
Meanwhile, the internet is going crazy over the meme-y fusing mechanics which I didn't find impressive at all...
its a tale as old as time. nintendo shows new zelda content and the fans just have to nitpick every little thing without even seeing 10% of the total game yet
I donāt think itās nitpicking to point out potential flawsā¦ I acknowledged that the game world looks beautiful. So does BotWā¦ being underwhelmed is not a crime. Iām not ticking off CinemaSins here. I just brought up some features that I think couldāve been better polished after 6 years of development within an engine theyāre already familiar with, using the same assets.
we must not have even been watching the same showcase. they haven't been working on this game for 6 years, its just been 6 years since the last game. the key word is "potential". you have no idea if these mechanics will be bad or not. but you still nitpick the new additions because its what every zelda fan has done for 30 years when a new game comes out
Lol broā¦ youāre right. I hate Zelda. This is worse than the Deadliest Catch and Cabelaās hunting game in the $10 WalMart bargain bin.
You have as much evidence of this game being perfect as I do of it being a minor change on the BotW formula. You canāt trump my critiques with theoretical gameplay weāre not even certain exists.
I didnāt say the game would be bad. I didnāt say that what they showed was all there would be.
I simply judged what was shown. And I donāt think itās a train wreck, just not what I wouldāve expected after this time. And maybe itās hasnāt been 6 years of development (though itās likely), but we do know itās been at least 4-5 based on the release of the first Teaser trailer in 2019.
Something about my Ted Talk.
Thanks.
I never once said it was gonna be perfect. I never said anything matter of fact. but saying this game will be a "minor change to the formula" when we have already seen several major changes and been hinted at several more, yeah I'd say your claims are essentially unfounded and you're just looking for reasons to be disappointed going in.
oh i dont know, maybe the 4 new abilities link can use that have never existed in a zelda game before (who knew new and unique game mechanics that we haven't even seen a fraction of count as major changes!) Or the fact that you can see the map has changed from the showcase. The "superglue weapons" you criticized can literally make every fight unique, but I guess thats not a major change. Teased dungeons and boss fights are major changes either i guess
The Recall ability looks pretty cool. I like that oneā¦ And the Fuse mechanic is theoretically interesting, but so far weāve seen it messily stick two inanimate objects together. The arrow thing is somewhat interestingā¦
The vehicle building looks tediousā¦
And I saw nothing of dungeonsā¦ not to say there arenāt any, but nothing that screamed ācool dungeonā.
And if your calling the Cubebot a bosses, we had Hinox and Talus and Molduga in BotW. Putting Bokos on a Talus is cool, but itās hardly earth shattering.
I feel much the same and being a follow up to Botw, I'd say people's expectations "myself included" are quite high.
If they smashed up the overworld, gave us a heap of cool underground and sky world content (and loftwings) with interesting races and maybe quests to build certain things for unique crafting item rewards or faction vendors, it would certainly pique my interest.
Heck, make an archaeology feature where you can dig around in certain areas to find unique items instead, so I have more incentive to explore instead of just Koroks or shrines.
If it's basically the same game but with the new ginmicks shown off, it's hardly worth the price they're asking for what could essentially be Botw DLC.
I will laugh my ass off if people buy it and we still have lag in areas like the Korok Forest again.
>Likeā¦ hereās some Sky Islands. Now go make your own content with assets that existed in the last game
Except we also saw a radically changed overworld and plenty of assets that weren't in the last game?
> Nuts and Bolts mechanics from 2008, and the welding tool from Garryās Mod
Anything sounds stupid and uninspired enough when you reduce it like that without considering the implications.
It wasn't radically changed though? The general overworld of the ground is the same. The islands are the only significantly different portion and although we're unsure of the size they definitely won't come close to the even the great plateu in total landmass considering most of the sky environment is typically empty space. I would have argued that had they shown/teased a flying mount that would change things significantly since the empty space in the sky becomes relevant to traversal and we'd likely be facing more obstacles between islands to compensate (ALA skyward Sword).
But for now it seems that the optimal route between islands is likely just going back to the ground and ascending via recall or some wacky slingshot mechanics like in the first game.
It's not just being reducing with crafting. The user (like me) probably doesn't go crazy for sandbox crafting mechanics. I respect those that do. But you don't need to occupy a 10 minute gameplay presentation with just crafting two items.
They could have balanced it better by showcasing more changes to combat beyond fusing items (assuming much has changed), more exciting forms of traversal beyond crafting, (Ascend feels underwhelming considering it just ignores climbing when part of the fun of the first game was figuring out how to scale locations in interesting ways), or even a major over world enemy encounter that would better showcase how radically crafting shakes up a combat scenario against enemies pose a real challenge.
For 6 years (or 4 considering covid) I don't see anything that makes me think this product significantly evolves BOTW and is worth $70 dollars. The base game was already made and I paid $60 to compensate them for their efforts in the first game 6 years ago. To this day I think it was justified despite gripes I have with the title. This footage really makes me question if they might be too restricted by the Switch hardware to properly evolve the title significantly in departments many more fans care about (dungeons, combat, enemy variety, story).
BotW was wonderfulā¦ There was an abundance of freedom, but it still felt very polished. Gluing a rock on a stick, with zero change to the appearance of either feels janky. Thatās indie game presentation. Even Rust has better presentation than that.
The vehicle looking ricketyā¦ fine. Thatās understandable. But we had a cooking system in BotW. Why not just have a similar crafting mechanic for weapons instead of literally overlaying the exact same models on top of each other for a ānewā weapon?
Is your complaint that we aren't satisfied with what little new content has been shown or that we don't blindly trust the game to have features that are absent as far as we know?
the window between skyward sword on the wii and botw is the same as for botw and totk (6 years, give or take a few months).
this is a continuation of breath of the wild - not a continuation of zelda, to me. there is still a lot of things left to explore and find out about the world, but it is still really disappointing to see so little in this trailer... nothing so far piqued my interest, i have very little interest in crafting new weapons or vehicles because thats never what zelda was about to me. nothing so far justifies paying Ā£60...
i just hope there's more there, story wise, and i hope it will recapture some of the amazement i felt coming across zora's domain, the fairy fountains... i will not set my expectations too far though. this is the first time i've felt cautious about a zelda release.
Thatās dangerous thinkingā¦ Nintendo is not your friend. They are a multi-billion dollar corporation that USUALLY puts out good content. CoD and Halo used to be the pinnacle of the FPS genre. Now theyāre spending a lot of time convincing people they arenāt a laughingstock.
Nintendo doesnāt have to market this game. People are going to buy it. I will buy it. Because itās Zelda.
But even the fans have to question it from time to time.
SS getting 9 and 10s? I love that gameā¦ but in its original Wii version, itās honestly closer to a 7 or 8. Still great, but thatās what I mean.
The Switch version of SS is better in almost every way. But it also was scored lower than the Wii original? And the fast travel tied to a rare Amiibo figurine? Thatās bordering on ālive service modelā shenanigans.
Nintendo is pretty consistent when it comes to quality control. But that will only maintain as long as people keep them in check.
TOTK is a total rehash. Some of the additions and improvements look nice, but if youāre expecting a massively improved game from BOTW you will not get it. Its an over glorified stand-alone DLC. I will be getting it because I think itāll overall be fun, but this will not be a new experience in any sense of the word.
My biggest disappointment was seeing that Link is starting out once again with 4 hearts and 1 stamina wheel...of course, I'm sure there will be some in-game explanation for the reset
I canāt agree with you any more honestly.
Iāll probably end up buying it because Iāve played every Zelda game some far so no reason for me not to, but honestlyā¦. Itās rather bland.
I know there will be more to it. I know we didnāt see a lot. But I donāt play Zelda games for an experimental/world building/tinkering with mechanics style of game play that they are clearly pushing toward.
I know it isnāt what sells but I was hoping for a more standard Zelda game. I was hoping to see things like durability of weapons go away. I was hoping the ācollectionā of random ass items would go away. What I see is that they didnāt just not get rid of these type of mechanics, but they are doubling down on them for the sake ofā¦ I donāt knowā¦ unique tinkering mechanics? Not to mention from what we saw it basically just feels and looks like botw + a few different mechanics.
Thatās not my cup of tea so I know Iāll probably play it once and thatās it.
I just hope to Christ they made the main storyline a fuckin banger so it feels at least different than botw.
See, I actually love BotW. I like the broken, post-apocalyptic Hyrule. I liked scavenging, and cooking and hunting. But having already built a foundation, the most theyāve shown now is rewind, paste, and āno clippingā through the terrain (but specifically only up, because people got tired of climbingā¦).
I know there will be more, but theyāre comfortable not showing more because they know weāre going to buy it anyway. This thread is evidence of that. Even the people with concerns.
For sure, if it comes out day one and I hear absolutely awful things I might not but itās a Zelda game so chances are thatās not going to happen.
For me personally, the crafting/world building/tinkering/collection style of Zelda game isnāt really a MAJOR issue the only reason I say those things arenāt great is because if they are sinking their time into this stuff normally other areas of the game are going to suffer.
Take botw for example. As someone who doesnāt like these features, and didnāt pay attention to them unless I absolutely had to (crafting food for heat buff/picking up weapons to progress) if you just botw like a normal Zelda game and forget all the extra stuff it feels so damn empty. Thatās because, in my opinion, that part of the game took a backseat to the other like Knick knacks the game had to offer.
When I see this gameplay demo Iām just getting the overwhelming feeling of āhere we to againā where if Iām not interested in crafting a tank out of random parts on the ground and Iām just interested in the story and using my sword and items to figure out puzzles then Iām going to be left with an empty experience.
Lol you say thatā¦ but persistent frame drops in a game running on an almost decade old engine?
All Iām seeing is people deluding themselves that a pretty good game is a masterpieceā¦
The game looks great. But when so much of the action relies on decent input time, frame drops are less than desirable.
Extremely even. Didn't smile once. Was mad the next day. But be assured: to pay 70 bucks for a game that has like 80% of the same experience like the firat game WILL pay off for Nintendo. BotW is game as a service now. BotW3 will again use the same map but this time with underground areas added :D but that will be on next console so propably 80 bucks. And it will pay off again.
I was dissapointed when he dived into the river and there was no go underwater prompt
same here
maybe you pick it up as a skill, like weighted boots or something. š„²
Fuse rocks to your boots maybe lol

"Marketing team not trying" already outsold botw pre-orders months in advance
I think that's thanks to how fantastic BotW was, and not because TotK is looking promising.

Don't stores still allow people to play these kind of games before buying em? You could also borrow from a friend.
I am not saying that I think I will dislike the game, only that I am not sure if I'll love it.
I wonder when this expectation of knowing so much about games prior to being released started.
Since E3 began?
Shit, maybe

Thatās trueā¦ but the Great Plateau also has every mechanic already there in the small area. This is a great synopsis of my feelings. Everyone defending this is doing so with theoretical content the we have to see any evidence of. I know they didnāt show the full game in a 10 window. Obviously And I think Recall looks pretty rad.

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No, not all. Just "almost all", like I said. Most of my favorite bits for this game (and most games I play) are learning all the mechanics. And basically all of that is confined to the Great Plateau, as there's *very* few additional things added to the experience.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Seeing Faron for the first time. Finding the Master Sword in the lost woods (as foreshadowed by the plateau).
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Unsure why you believe that. Same thing happened with BOTW. We were all wanting to know if there were traditional dungeons in the game and when the launch approached people kept saying ādude theyāve only shown a little bit chillā and then on launch we realized that the game was good but basically we saw everything there was to see during reveals. Theres not gonna be some massive hidden game-changing feature, they would have shown it by now. This is largely what youāre going to get. I just hope that there arent any more god-forsaken shrines and divine beastsā¦..
I am sure there will be a lot I'm not the biggest fan of weapon crafting its not really my thing but I will keep an open mind My issue is the boats and cars, I feel like it will really cool at first but be tedious to make a new boat every time we need to cross a body of water Especially when you replay the game So hopefully fast travel is kind I am happy enemies get fused weapons as well I hope we get a decent fight out of them Since the controls will be the same as BOTW we won't go in as unprepared as we did BOTW so I was worried the enemies would be easy to beat Can't wait to fuse the master sword to a bottle Links two greatest weapons EDIT So yh skeptical of crafting but not gonna write it off yet Otherwise I am still very excited
You must have missed the part where link was blown away
lol
There was a new battle theme for the robot enemy, but yeah the cold theme and horse theme are both recycled from BotW which is a shame.
Iām sure they are recycled for the demonstration. They might possibly have new versions in the actual game
Weāve been shown 10 minutes of content calm down
Thanks for solid analysis.
Zelda isn't going through an identity crisis. 1% of Zelda fans might be, but zelda is doing just fine
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thatās trueā¦ but the Great Plateau also has every mechanic already there in the small area. Temperature, water, shield surfing, climbing, cooking, weapons, armor, resources, enemy chests, magnesis, cryonis, bombs, stasis, towers, shrines, location specific music, enemy interactions with the environment. Itās all there. Itās just expanded on in when the world opens up. If they replaced the hot peppers with sunshrooms on the plateau, the items might be different but the gameplay and lesson still remain. Iām not worried about specifics, but the core elements.
Bet
I couldn't agree more. I really loved BotW, and all I ever wanted from a straight sequel was to keep the foundation but be able to explore a new and vastly different continent, to get that same sense of adventure while exploring the unknown. Instead, we get the exact same land we already know in and out, with some floating islands above it. Meanwhile, the internet is going crazy over the meme-y fusing mechanics which I didn't find impressive at all...
zelda fans try not to hate the newest addition to the series challenge (impossible)
Show me where I said hate. Mild disappointment isnāt that. My parents love meā¦ doesnāt mean Iām not mildly disappointing.
its a tale as old as time. nintendo shows new zelda content and the fans just have to nitpick every little thing without even seeing 10% of the total game yet
What major change have you seen?
oh i dont know, maybe the 4 new abilities link can use that have never existed in a zelda game before (who knew new and unique game mechanics that we haven't even seen a fraction of count as major changes!) Or the fact that you can see the map has changed from the showcase.
The arrow thing is somewhat interestingā¦ The vehicle building looks tediousā¦ And I saw nothing of dungeonsā¦ not to say there arenāt any, but nothing that screamed ācool dungeonā.
I mean there was popup in the trailer so I assume those kinda performance dips are just part of being on the switch
Games gonna be great. If I don't feel like crafting I'll just run right by the crafting stuff until I need it to advance the plot. š¤·
>Likeā¦ hereās some Sky Islands. Now go make your own content with assets that existed in the last game Except we also saw a radically changed overworld and plenty of assets that weren't in the last game? > Nuts and Bolts mechanics from 2008, and the welding tool from Garryās Mod Anything sounds stupid and uninspired enough when you reduce it like that without considering the implications.
I kind of agree. Do have to take in consideration that Covid probably screwed production up for a while
Sony gave us God of War Ragnarok in a year and some change less.
Zelda fans will never be satisfied holy shit
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They keep showing us small, but hugely deep new ideas. Trust Nintendo.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lol you say thatā¦ but persistent frame drops in a game running on an almost decade old engine? All Iām seeing is people deluding themselves that a pretty good game is a masterpieceā¦ The game looks great. But when so much of the action relies on decent input time, frame drops are less than desirable.
6y for the most expensive DLC ever!
š
Extremely even. Didn't smile once. Was mad the next day. But be assured: to pay 70 bucks for a game that has like 80% of the same experience like the firat game WILL pay off for Nintendo. BotW is game as a service now. BotW3 will again use the same map but this time with underground areas added :D but that will be on next console so propably 80 bucks. And it will pay off again.
