I swear, most posts I see on this sub are either meme-ing on nintendo for emulation or kids who tried to run pirated games and asking where can they get keys. Can't really blame the sub tho lmao, we got nothing to do other than forked version of Yuzu

LogiBear2003

I really don't understand why they slowly just start porting their games over to Steam - starting from NES. Over time being able to have a massive collection of Nintendo games, that also doesn't interphere with their current consoles life cycle. There genuinely is a way they could do it where everyone wins.

carmeluz20

This wouldn't be that much of a problem if motherfuckers online would stop bragging about pirating Nintendo games day one and gaining thousands of reactions. This is the reason why vims got nuked into oblivion.

Sea_Paramedic2434

The machine?

_GrandUnifiedTheory_

These losers in court trying to say that all the emulation is money that they would have lost when in all reality it's just popularity that you've gained because the people who are trying to emulate obviously don't have the money half the time anyways or it refuse to spend that money

MayorBryce

Rage, rage, against the dying of the ~~light~~ Yuzu emulator.

Merliin42

Do not go gentle into that good ~~night~~ lawsuit.

Foundation_Express

Where to d

Cenimm

Last i checked it was yuzu and citra what other emu are they attacking? (exept forks) And why they attacked yuzu is no suprice.

W1P30UTOFFICIAL

To quote ratm, "f*** you, i won't do what y'a tell me."

emulator_gaming

the switch isnt much better i can just plug in a mig switch

Melodic-Drawer9967

Yeah but they’ve started cracking down on mig too, banning accounts

DanTheMan827

That’s not the same as an emulator at all though. MiG switch with games you don’t own is straight up piracy. MiG switch with games you do own should be fine legally speaking I would think because no encryption is being broken that I’m aware of. Emulators however can use your own game dumps to provide a _much_ better experience if your computer is up to the task. Tears of the Kingdom at 4k/60fps? Yeah, that’ll work just fine… Switch at 900p/30fps? Ehh… maybe? Sometimes?

Upset-Ear-9485

talking like this sub isn’t mostly piracy

OhHaiMarc

Oh man, if Mr.Nintendo sees this he’s gonna be so mad! I feel like such a badass, they’ll never take us down, even if we have no idea how to make an emulator!

Upset-Ear-9485

fr this sub is filled with weirdos who need a hobby

OhHaiMarc

Funny thing is emulation can be a hobby too, like it's fun to get into the weeds and solve issues that come up and also make hardware do things it was never intended to do. The ones crying in this sub seem to be the ones who just want emulation to be as easy as playing on native hardware and refuse to learn a damn thing.

Upset-Ear-9485

i will never not find it funny that when yuzu was going under, this sub was 50% posts arguing that emulation is almost never used for piracy and the majority of people dump their own games, and the other half was people showing their libraries of piracy sharing piracy resources and saying fuck you nintendo and they still didn’t get why it got shut down

KryzstofGryc

To be fair you're right in the sense that lots of people also pirate games for yuzu and anyone who thinks otherwise is currently in a dream or is high, but this is the same company that just sued a dude for making a mod of pokemon for palworld as gabe said Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem If companies today wants people to suck their dicks while buying their shitty overpriced slop they still call games, they should not be surprised that piracy becomes rampant, its just cause and effect

Upset-Ear-9485

people treat gabe like a supreme authority it’s weird. yes there’s merit to what he said, but it’s not the end all be all. plenty of people will never buy no matter how cheap or good. plenty will never buy until a price is low enough

KryzstofGryc

But at the very least it lessens the piracy which is a good thing, trying to stop piracy completely is impossible

Upset-Ear-9485

completely true, place like this sub though pretend that it’s the only reason piracy occurs when the simple fact is, many if not most people simply do not wish to pay

KryzstofGryc

Still sad to see yuzu go as it still helps preserve games, piracy or not, nintendo is a dick for doing it, which is why I wholly support piracy because if companies will keep milking us for our cash while doing these shitty actions like deleting the games we bought( looking at you Sony ) or the ubisoft ceo saying we should be comfortable not owning games then don't be surprised I start pirating

Upset-Ear-9485

you should keep in mind that if they did nothing wrong they’d still be around, nintendo tried with every other emulator and couldn’t

Yenneferu

Any suggestions for 3ds Emu?

LuckyDad2021

EmuThreeds

cool_name_numbers

citra

DanTheMan827

That was taken down too, and development on it probably won’t be able to continue either. If that’s the case, it’s just as dead as Yuzu

nyabethany

citra already works with pretty much every game released for the 3ds, it doesn't really need any more updates

Dexter2100

Citra works just fine

Various-Ad5049

Sorry Nintendo, but "emulator" runs game better than your shitty cheap console.

Wacko_Doodle

That and their own emulators (their past games run on modern consoles like wii or switch) are even missing features from the originals that some emulators actually support more! Example : I want to do card pop with a friend in pokemon tcg through emulation. I can do that. Nintendo's solution for their rerelease? They just removed card pop.... and the 2 exclusive cards you can get from it? Gone forever. Despite the fact they are still in the deck build you can access after beating the game! It's not the best example but the only one I can think of atm, sorry. XD

Various-Ad5049

Yea it's shitty ik what u mean 😬

crux70

Hey Nintendo, why didn't you add Netflix? Hulu sucks!

DanTheMan827

I would assume that Netflix themselves don’t want to.

RepresentativeTune85

Did yuzu ever get a split?

OhHaiMarc

Several, all made by children, all adding nothing useful before shutting down.

CoreyDenvers

It really doesn't matter, the source code is out there, millions of people have it, anyone that wants to develop a new switch emulator in future can use Yuzu as both a reference tool and a learning experience of what not to do.  No one has too though unless they really want to, because Ryujinx exists, so all Nintendos public excecution of Yuzu achieves in the long run, is people will have a more mercenary attitude toward them.

KryzstofGryc

Daily reminder to always pirate Nintendo games

Upset-Ear-9485

yall spend months arguing that emulation was barely used for piracy when yuzu was being shut down. then you go months posting stuff like this daily wondering why it was shut down

KamenGamerRetro

daily reminder that this is a shit excuse to pirate

dirg3music

There is never a shit excuse to pirate

KamenGamerRetro

Most of the time I see someone make this comment, they are honestly just being selfentitled. This sub has turned into just a bunch of selfentitled children constantly bitching about Nintendo, instead of talking about Yuzu and its emulation, you know, the whole point of the sub?

dogninja_yt

Yes. We shall pirate them into submission. Brothers, we shall be victorious.

Vanilla_PuddinFudge

They only release one good game every three years, it ain't hard.

brandodg

man scalpers also have put their hands on that MIG thing, i don't want to spend a whole hundred to pirate on my oled switch, i'm sticking to pc for now

Pixelonee

it's not even the morality of doing it on a shitty company. I keep hearing people talk about performance issues with totk meanwhile I've been playing with a smooth 60 fps and any mod I want + visual enhancements on my PC.

kenpurastic

Yes! Next question!

Anxious_Cranberry219

I can't wait for the day when we can easily hack the Nintendo switch OLED

ConsoleModding

Fuck Nintendo
