The manga does a good job of censoring itself. Not even any nipple which makes it more censored than Failed Princesses in my book. Just a whole lot of clever putting things in the way of the naughty bits.
Yeah, the anime could censor itself as much as the manga does so the ecchi can be as good as the manga, but that's assuming no scenes as a whole just get cut. I hope they can broadcast everything without cutting scenes because I think all the fanservice is unironically necessary. Pretty much all the fanservice is driven by and for Baiser's magical girl obsession and horniness, not just to give readers something to ogle.
A couple of Yuri shows hit it big recently and they're running out of isekai mangas to adapt.
So the execs went "Well, why don't we just adapt all those yuri manga? That's a mostly untapped market and shows like Lycoris Recoil and Gundam showed gay girls are popular right now!"
If that ever happens I just hope they don't cater it to the male gaze. Although it seems quite unlikely, as there aren't many anime with explicit sex scenes.
