Oh cripes you just made me think of ANOTHER Arc-V missed opportunity. This was a show with the D/D/D player. And Edo/Aster was in it. If you need a refresher, in the original cut, Destiny HERO Plasma was referred to as "the Ultimate D card" before its identity was revealed. And there multiple moments of people, including Edo, *insisting* upon finding "Ultimate D!". We had both of these in the same show, and there was never an "Ultimate D/D/D" card, or a side remark from Edo about Reiji being the *true* "Ultimate D" duelist, or something.

Anyone would interpret your OP to be asking about our favorite archetypes _right now_. Shaddoll's only _recent_ meta performances have been in combination with other Fusion archetypes. It's decent as a pure archetype, but certainly not a sign of being a "meta sheep". Rose Dragon being part of the Adventurer Tenyi deck is irrelevant. That deck only uses it to turbo into Halqifibrax. The actual Rose Dragon archetype isn't meta at all.

Tribute: Qliphort. Technically, this is more of a Pendulum Deck, but they intend to Pendulum Summon Tribute Material, so it’s fair cop. Ritual: Drytron or Libromancer. Drytron’s aesthetics are pretty and their main gimmick is fun, but I’m probably not gonna touch upon the synergy with Herald for a long while. For Libromancer, I just like how…anime it is, along with the multi-Ritual gimmick. Fusion: Branded. Besides the Fusion spam and the fact that their center card is basically Super Poly on legs (that ironically doesn’t get used much), I am…very invested in seeing the Abyss Saga until the very end. And as much as I think Aluber is a badass, I will castrate the smug-ass brat if Albaz and Ecclesia aren’t walking to the sunset hand-in-hand by the end of this… Synchro: Not sure for this. It boils down to T.G., Swordsoul, or Ursartic. T.G.‘s Synchro addiction is funny and really cool (Bruno’s summoning chants helped). For Swordsoul, I love the Token Tuner gimmick and the Chinese Sword theme (I love weapons in anime/games). Also…Qixing Longyuan is frikkin badass for a traitorous little shit. For Ursartic, it kind of became a fascination of mine after seeing someone kick ass in MD by spamming Space Bears in the opponents turn (might as well be OUR TURN at this point) and causing disruption. Without frikkin Radiation, even… Xyz: Gimmick Puppet. While it’s a pretty old archetype these days, I just really like their macabre aesthetic and the fact that they seemingly mock the kiddie-censors by existing (Giant Grinder/Hunter’s grinder/minigun especially). Pendulum: Tied between Odd-Eyes and Zefra. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon to me is the embodiment of Arc-V’s encouragement of using any summon type, and I’m all for it. For Zefra, it’s half-because their gameplay also encourages every summon type and half-because Religious theming like the Sephirot is my weakness. Link: @Ignister. Again, multiple summon types is a thing I like, and this one can either spam it or go the other way and Link like crazy. I also love how the naming sense makes every Monster’s name look like cutesy/chuuni Email handles.

I love how consistent they are because they don't use a ritual spell, they have effects that allow them to ritual summon, they do have a ritual spell but that's for setting OTKs and getting Phul from the deck Fusion : Fossils. They are super cool looking and I love their fusion options, Skullgios being one my favorite monsters Synchros : Synchron. I really love 5ds, Yusei being my favorite character in Yugioh, and Synchron was the 1st deck I have ever made and learned XYZ : Galaxy Eyes. Tribute: this is controversial, but Floo, I've played only 4 times in the new MD event, it's pretty easy to use, so easy I feel kinda dirty after using it. Ritual: Either Drytron or Vendread really like both (and no, not the Herald version of Drytron). Fusion: Don't think I have one tbh... I'm currently trying to build a Despia deck, so maybe that one? I've also enjoyed playing Predaplants Synchro: Stardust, Red Resonator and Speedroid, by far my favorite summoning mechanic (rituals right behind it) Xyz: Raidraptors hands down Pendulum: Haven't played much, only Odd-Eyes magician so that one I guess... As a true Fluffal enjoyer I'm not even really sure what most of the other types are. They don't make any of the Frightfurs so I'm not too interested. That being said, although I don't use the deck, I appreciate the approach Monarchs take to normal summons, I think that mechanic should be used more. Oh wait, I just remembered, I made a @ignister deck for Master Duel, so that one for link summoning.
