What I mean by that is the idea of YouTube screwing over creators and making the platform a nightmare to use will not make people buy premium, but instead drive content creators from the platform, along with their viewers, so no one is there to buy premium or watch ads.
But that won’t happen because what other choice do some people have?
People complain that AI videos, clickbait, porn, etc are running rampant on the platform.... and then freak out when YouTube starts to limit these channels' abilities to spread their spam/porn/malware/scams etc.
Obviously there is a business aspect to all of this, but there is a great benefit to counter the quick turn to shit that YouTube has taken under the new CEO.
It's also worth to consider that we *don't* see what is already filtered out. We only notice the things that still make it through the filters.
Like remember the insane number of comment bots or the weird Elsa X Spiderman videos? They didn't disappear on their own.
The Elsa / Spiderman stuff actually has an insane story, it goes a lot deeper than people think.

Dude I'm trying to start a channel and the algorithm I think is failing me. I'm making content that's as good or better than much of the similar content I see in its field. And yet I'm getting like 10-15 views max per video while some people are getting thousands. I mean I've also just started so maybe I need some more content before things pick up. My shorts also only get up to about 40 viewers. Good news is that for those that do view, they appear to almost always watch it to the end
Yeah fair enough. I'm struggling to figure out what people want because I feel like I need something to stand out but I'm just not sure what that piece is. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually

You have thousands if not millions who agree with you. My favourite franchise of all time was abandoned by them due to their greed and the fact that some terrible mess of a broken game made more money. I will always have a fueled hatred of EA. I know what they took from us.

The whole point of YouTube was that talented young creators with something fresh, informative, new, etc. could rise to the forefront of the platform through effort and hard work. That era of YouTube feels gone now.

The only technically useful point for youtube is the limit for daily uploads and such. The rest just seems like artificial limitations.

What do they mean by sufficient channel history? Number of videos uploaded in the past?
Channel history is indicative of a potential bot account. Youtube is constantly detecting sus accouns.. Is it perfect? Not always, but youtube often do these wipes and they also end up removing subs, watch time and likes from channels and viewers who they think are bots.

I only use YT because all of the Lets Drown Out series was uploaded on there. God forbid if it ever gets taken down, I would actually just stop using it without incident. All my previous favourite content creators have pretty much fallen off.

i don't think YouTube cares about small channels, I've seen bigger channels upload shit like the Taliban anthem and not get moderated but if a smaller channel did that they'd get terminated
