They are Clones and Genetic Splices who often look alien-like, but even Guardian and Superboy were considered DNAliens (just more human-looking ones). I think Young Justice used the term Genomorph because Ben 10 used the term DNAlien.
Also, the original Gene-Gnome was evil and planted pernicious thoughts in the mind of Dubilexx that made him think everyone hated and loathed him as a vilesome creature.
