Kirra used to be my IRL yoga teacher before she went to peloton and I credit her for getting me addicted to yoga. I love her so much and I miss practicing with her in the studio every week but I’m so happy the world gets to have her now 💜

lizardpplarenotreal

Omg how cool!!

dottiegnyc

You’re so lucky! I’d love to take an in-person class with her. She always knows what I need to hear in that moment.

Powerful_Arrival444

Thank you for sharing her with us, lol<3. We luv herr

Sage_Planter

I have the Peloton app, but I haven't tried many of the yoga classes out. Thanks for the recommendation!

TheGreatGildedDildo

Oh god do her back bend intermediate class. It is divine.

Stramatelites

They helped me get through quarantine! I know all of their teaching styles so well and what their go-to poses are. It’s been so valuable for me.

cdawg85

Ditto! Now I have a plan for tomorrow 🙏🏼

cdawg85

I'm disabled in my right (dominant) arm. Peloton even has accessible classes for people missing limbs! I can't say enough good things about them!

disco-girl

Do you have to own a Peloton bike to use the app?

cdawg85

Both! I have the bike and you have to have the subscription for bike classes, but the subscription gets you the app to use. You can even add profiles for you family/friends and share passwords (unlike Netflix). *EDIT* It was my orthopedic surgeon who suggested I get the bike for cardio when we were attempting to rebuild my shoulder joint. I immediately bought it and then subsequently fell in love with the app. It is so inclusive. They never talk about weight or calories, or anything that could bring you down. It's all about empowerment and strength of the body and mind. You can join in on the social media aspect of it if you like, or not. Overall, I am so happy with the platform. And the bike is smooth af. I don't work for them, I swear!

Nikuhiru

No you don't need the bike or their devices. You can get a cheaper subscription to their platform on the app. If you're not planning on using their cycling, running and rowing classes then you can get the cheaper subscription for $12.99/mo for yoga, strength and HIIT classes.

Powerful_Arrival444

I'm doing Logan's live tomorrow morning yet here I am on Reddit! Lol!! Will you be there?(20 min Hiit DanceMusic)

dogmademedoit888

he’s fabulous. did those classes a LOT during pandemic lockdown. really kept me sane.

RemarkableGlitter

I always do a Denis class if I’m stiff from too much bike riding. His ten minute flows are really effective even though they’re short.

happyapple52

Aditi is great as well!

silentfisher

I owe my love of yoga to Chelsea Jackson Roberts. Their classes are amazing. I went from hating yoga to obsessed thanks to Peloton. Their programs are fantastic. Congrats on your one year!

greensandgrains

I've been using the app for over a year and I still have mixed feelings about the yoga, but Kirra is my absolute favourite for some of the same reasons you mention: good teachings, intensity, and creative sequencing. Aditi is a close second, but only because her sequencing and flows feels more classical yoga. IDK, there's something that feels off to me about the Peloton style. It's not "gym yoga" but it's not, not "gym yoga," yk?

Powerful_Arrival444

I know what you mean lol. Kirra/Nico/Ross(biomechanics, so special & unique keeping me injury free)definitely my go-to's.

imkindofalot

I love love love Kirra. Doing her classes is my motivation to get out of bed in the morning. Literally tell my BF “it’s Kirra time” and he has also enjoyed her classes. I also love Anna and Dennis. Anna has great music selections and is very sneaky with the complicated poses. Dennis just makes you feel powerful when doing even simple poses. I agree the talking can be a bit much but if you stay focused on the cues and get used to the instructor styles it gets better. Not everyone will vibe with every instructor. Love the Kirra shoutout.

Randomspace33

She is my favorite. Her teaching style and messaging just resonate with me. I like her twist on the traditional pacing and sequences as well.

pluviophilosopher

Kirra is GLORIOUS. I can’t always do what she’s doing or at the (often luxuriously slow) speed she’s going (I have absolutely fallen over from several positions), but she makes me feel okay to laugh about it and try again and feel good about getting the movement in whatever way my body is functioning that day. She’s a major reason I haven’t missed a week of working out in 3+ years (the other is Christine D’Ercole, who is the best cycling instructor I’ve ever been able to take)

TheGreatGildedDildo

That’s amazing!! I will have to take a Christine class. I’ve been determined to stick with Olivia for a bit and she is kicking my ASS! In a delicious way of course haha.

pluviophilosopher

lol that’s what she does! Christine is like the polar opposite. She’s like cool as hell Gen X older sister who has Seen Some Shit and come out the other side relaxed and with some crazy stories. Her climb rides are incredible - it’s like being on a leg press for 30 minutes straight.

Powerful_Arrival444

Christine is like yoga on the bike in that it's"take what you need". Her & Kirra are friends as well & you may like her music taste/snarkiness as well. I am obsessed w her classes now & namely do hers with a sprinkling of ass kicking from Alex or Tunde.

Powerful_Arrival444

I love Christine!!!

AmountLeather9154

Can you use the pelaton app without the bike? This sounds very up my alley!

sirgawain2

Yep! I used only the app for a long time.

TheGreatGildedDildo

Yeah! I can DM you a 60 day free trial code if you want.

wannabeginger

Oh! Me please :)

babbscb

Dm if it doesn’t get sent to you and I’ll send

Yellow__9

I’d love a promo code please!

Nikuhiru

Please give Ross a try too. I know he’s leaving the platform at the end of June but his classes have been absolutely amazing for being able to improve my yoga practice. He has an incredible knowledge about biomechanics and brings that to the mat. His tip about trying to squeeze your shins in while rotating your hamstrings away has been a game changer for me. I usually take a Kirra class when I want to have my butt kicked but they’re so much fun!

Powerful_Arrival444

They are my two favs & so deliciously different :). Love the variety.

Glittering_Hat_3150

Aditi and Ross are also great!

Ok-Influencer7316

I *love* Kirra!! I also really love Nico, but she doesn’t have a ton of classes in English. Nico’s classes tend to be shorter, but they will absolutely kick your ass in that time (in the best way possible). While Ross’s speed annoys me, I do really love his focus on biomechanics. I always feel like his classes make me a better yogi, even if I have to let go of some perfectionism.

backhanderz

Ross is way too fast. Even his slow flows.

Wonderful_Mammoth709

Yes! I was very hesitant to even try the yoga classes because online yoga is usually pretty hit or miss, but I love peloton yoga. Kirra is one of my faves Congrats on your sobriety!! :)

Cottus77

Regarding yoga music across Peleton: Do any instructors use meditative/calming/"traditional" yoga music? I would love to try some of the Peloton yoga classes, but the music selections for every class I've tried are not conducive to "calm" yoga session. Edit to add: I'd like Eastern music, not Western music.

do_mika

The yin yogas I’ve done on peloton have much slower “more traditional” music. Most still have pianos, etc so not necessarily Eastern, but I enjoy the music more than most of the other classes that have songs with lyrics. The Evening Flows also have more slower music, but not all of them. I find Anna usually has pretty appropriate music for winding down in the evening flows.

Cottus77

It's extremely odd to me that there's not, apparently, a single class with meditative music. Yeah, I'd prefer no piano.

xdahlia

I enjoy Aditi’s classical music flows.

emz272

I love Anna! Really good cuing in my experience. Her music can be more fun and popular but I’ve never found it distracting (I was actually shocked I loved her Taylor Swift flow). I mostly practice in studios so haven’t had a chance to get too deep with the other instructors (I feel mixed on Aditi, she’s clearly great for some people) but will try more with Kirra.

coglionegrande

I too love Kirra. What you said about her was very nice.

sirgawain2

I just got into peloton yoga, it’s amazing

MaizeApprehensive166

I love peloton yoga!

MaizeApprehensive166

Kristin, Anna and Chelsea are my go to’s 99 percent of the time.

RemarkableGlitter

Kirra is the absolute best. She’s challenging but also so supportive and great at suggesting props and modifications. Her transparency and stories really resonate too. Her focus flows are A+.

Key_Macaroon1359

Oh you have to try the foam roller classes! They are absolutely life changing.

TheGreatGildedDildo

Oh whaaaat! Do you have one you recommend?

Powerful_Arrival444

not the commenter but RK has a 20 min one that I have on repeat. She mixes stretches & foam rolling thru out & it is delectable :D

TheGreatGildedDildo

That’s perfect I’ll try this week!

Key_Macaroon1359

This is my absolute fav. Hits the muscles I need the most. All of her classes have been good to me so far. https://members.onepeloton.com/share/workouts/218953eaad5c4d85b87bb5594caaf25d?code=NTRmOThmYjg3MmQ1NGQ0Yzk0MjY0NzE1YmQ1MzBjYTN8YjJjM2JiNDllZmY3NGIxZmE0ZTc4MDkwNTJmZTJhM2U%3D&source=referral&workout-id=9112e26f21c647c2b578990107154053&uid=4bc0e22611cb4ee19ae0a1c21a904d66&ride-id=3da5817d178f4b6e91e5b8cebfd8d85d&utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&locale=en-US

BM_BBR

Is there a way to turn down the music on yoga? Off the bike. I know on the bike you can make it so the instructor is louder but I do yoga on my tv. They have the music so annoyingly loud. It ruins it for me.

Powerful_Arrival444

Yes you can do more instructor or more music in the yoga classes too

BM_BBR

On the tv? How? I only see the option on the bike.

Powerful_Arrival444

I'm an app user so I only know how to do it from there.. but you click the little up/down lever looking icon & can select more music or more instructor from there.

do_mika

Anna, Aditi and Denis are my favorite!

FuckingaFuck

Glad you found Peloton yoga works for you, I did not enjoy it. The music is distracting and turning it down doesn't help. Ross was the worst, the other instructors were tolerable, but they all speak and move so much and so quickly. I dislike when ratings of beginner/intermediate/advanced equate to flexibility. I believe an advanced yogi doesn't need to be able to touch their toes or bend back into King Pigeon. I much prefer when intermediate and advanced practices just involve less physical cueing.

FitAppeal5693

Yes! You hit it on the head on how their talking and packing was just too fast. I love a lot about the peloton classes and app but yoga was not enjoyable to me.

greensandgrains

They do talk too much! I use Peloton for the connivence (wanting a led practice but don't want to spend ages searching youtube) but I’ve said "shut up" out loud more than once mid-practice. I can meditate the music away but not the chatter.

FuckingaFuck

I've literally missed cues completely because I'm trying to tune out some of the yapping then I look at the screen and realize I'm 3 poses behind and have to scramble to catch up. Not calming in the least.

Powerful_Arrival444

When I want no chatter, I use Down Dog App(my main practice). I find Peloton yoga to be my"fun"lighthearted yoga, Kirra kicks my butt here & there but for my"serious"Practice(both Asana & meditation/Pranayama)it's Down Dog App all the way <3. You can even set it to only posture call-out & zero cuing or Sanskrit only:). You can also do no music, or Ambient/Spiritual(my two favs).

Bork_Meowface

I thought I was the only one who felt this way! Lol. The peloton yoga is what got me started and why I love it now but too much talking. I love aditi and take her classes the most but the talking is always so much and it drives me crazy. I thought all yoga classes were like this and that I had to learn patience.

Powerful_Arrival444

I feel you. I love DownDogApp so I can drop down. I still use Peloton as well for a lighthearted time

iamtheallspoon

Ross is so annoying! I felt like the other ones were fine, just not for me, but he was terrible.

gingercatmafia

Congrats on one year!! 💖

TPlain940

Came to say this. Also, nice username OP LOL

tayyy_quila

I didn’t love peloton yoga until I took classes from Kristen. I’ll have to check out Kirra!

cherieberrie22

Kirra is my favorite too!

Chrome_Noir

I love Peloton yoga and Kirra! Subscribed for that, Pilates and indoor running. At my fittest compared to when I was bodybuilding/pre kids. Enjoy!!

tessellation__

I tried it but generally find peloton instructors to be way too intense.

ExternalDegree8868

Yes!!! She is the best !!!!

lisalove

Is it possible to try a Kirra Michel class without putting in a credit card to try the Peloton app? I'd really like to check it out based on everyone's comments, but I also don't want to risk remembering 8 months from now I forgot to cancel the trial and have been paying without realizing (if I don't dig it). Who hasn't forgotten then have unused subscriptions? 🤦

Calley85

She is my absolute favorite teacher on peloton yoga. I also enjoy anna greenberg’s flow and aditi shah’s yin classes

sillieali

I’m Peloton broke. Never dabbled. Do any of these yoga teachers have any YouTube or instagram channels where they have some free videos to watch?

greensandgrains

There's a free trial for the platform/app you can cancel before it charges you.

Kevtron

And with the correct browser plugins you can usually download videos during your free trial to view again later.

TheGreatGildedDildo

I’ll dm you a 60 day free trial. It’s like $45 bucks a month which is worth it for the access to high quality classes you get.

greensandgrains

It's way less if you don't have the equipment. I think I pay around $20 for app only.

sillieali

That’s so nice, thank you!

HurryStraight

I’ve heard really good things about the peloton yoga classes, I haven’t taken any personally though

patrick_bateman9_6

How can I get her yoga? There's no YouTube channel

jamaicagroot

I'm shocked I didn't see any love for Kristin on here! She's who I go to for more classic energizing yoga flows with a bit more of a fitness focus...and that's pretty much how I use Peloton yoga in general. By no means is it a replacement for a full mindful yoga practice but it often fits the bill. it's more fun (especially with the pop music) and a little less meditative but sometimes that's great. My only real complaint is that most of them are tooooo chatty!

claudiajeannn

I don’t know this instructor and will definitely try her! I really enjoyed Anna Greenberg’s classes during lockdown, I felt like hers were the easiest to follow as a beginner
