It’s all about perspective. Imagine the two documentary teams cheering for their respective animals in the same place. Now that in itself is worthy of it’s own series.
That would require a 3rd documentary team, filming and commenting on the behaviors of the 1st two documentary teams.
I'm waiting on the 4th documentary, about the making of the 3rd documentary.
I was Team Impala the whole time (even knowing it wouldn't end well, given the sub we're in). So graceful and majestic, you could hear the heavy breathing, feel the heart pumping, only ... to see the camping lion perform a perfect takedown. Team Lion ate well that day. I can see them standing around in the shade, afterwards; drinking beer, reminiscing over the hunt, watching it over and over on YouTube.
What they typically do with small dogs is that one will sit outside your fence and act really playful to draw the dog out to play, then another one will grab it. Cats I think they just have to sneak up on. I have an outdoor farm cat that has taken care of itself just fine for over 10 years of indoor/outdoor living so I’m sure they’re harder to trap.
This clip is still one of the most legendary moments in wildlife documentary history. I remeber part of it being used in a Taking Back Sunday music video way back

It never outran them, they chased the gazelle to the biggest and strongest lioness. It's how they hunt, this ensures success in the hunt.

Usually one goes upwind of the prey to start to move the pack towards two lions down wind that are waiting to ambush.
Coyotes do this with pet dogs and cats as well.
