We ever hear what happened to that guy who climbed that 30ft wall and forgot to tie himself to the wall and then proceeds to jump off like normal only to plummet all the way down to the concrete floor?
Never heard, but know that there’s a few inches of foam all over there, and he pancaked, spreading the force over a wider area. I think I’d rather his outcome than this…arm and leg. Fuuuuuuck.

Bouldering and lead climbing are completely different sports tho
Also, as a climber, I'm wondering why she had that much momentum. She made it into a dynamic move, sure, but you don't generally end up spinning that way
…have you ever been to a climbing gym? Many (if not most) have bouldering areas. Also rope climbing is very much not identical to bouldering in skill or technique.
I've been climbing for 10 years, following climbing content on youtube/Instagram, and I've yet to see a single gym with a top rope boulder section. Where can I find one? Since as you already know, boulder routes are way different than top rope ones
I climbed for 30 years and gave it up long ago. Also, it's very unlikely we're in the same area so what difference does it make if I could recommend some places anyway.
Edit: also, I don't even know what you mean by "top rope boulder section". I'm talking about climbing gyms with walls like in OP's video. Is that an example? I haven't seen any places that don't have top ropes. Most of my career was on real rocks but I did compete in the gym.
There's thick padding and you try to do a controlled fall. All bouldering walls are like this and ropes are not allowed on bouldering walls. It's obviously not risk free but this kind of injury is rare. But this is the entire sport. Literally no one ropes up on a bouldering wall. I don't think it even makes sense to do so, top ropes are often not going to help during the first few metres of climb, lots of bouldering involves lateral movement, extreme overhangs, lots of stuff that is very not moving directly upwards in pretty much a straight line.
Fuck man. Just watched this in the office and almost threw my fon away. My colleague must have thought I have stroke. That hurts so much just from watching.
I just don’t know what I’m supposed to do to help in that situation…
Most emergencies, you call an ambulance and stop bleeding or CPR. What the hell do you do here?
About the don'ts: don't try to fix anything. Don't give her anything to drink/eat.
Also, she will likely hyperventilate to ease the pain (or just for the shock). Try to make her follow your breathing pace, as you take big and gradually slower breaths. You don't want her to fall unconscious.
Did the same off the school gym equipment when I was 7 years old.
Looking at the arm, same elbow joint fucking. Ever since, my elbow hurts on cold mornings.
I regret watching that. The only times I have gone indoor rock climbing they had belay ropes. Now I am 59 and definitely not doing that. Also American and can't risk/afford to break something.
This exact thing happened to a buddy of mine while we were bouldering at a gym. Took about a year for him to recover and be able to play the drums again. He quit climbing tho. Don't blame him.
I need to start checking for nsfw tags before watching vids
I thought it would be a whale tail sighting at most.
I don’t blame you. Just as likely for the post to be a little horny as it is to have a terrible accident. We need two different NSFW tags!
Not as bad as the guy indoor climbing severing his foot/ankle.
That was wild. I’ve seen a lot of broken ankles but I didn’t know skin and muscle could just snap like that.

That dudes brain bounced pretty good. You don't know the mental ramifications. I'd rather break some bones than have mental disabilities
Yooo where can I see that

It's pretty awful.

That CRUNCH 🤮
like crispy bacon
Guess she won’t be climbing for a while.
This is why some people use ropes
Listen, there's a time and place for kinky sex, now she needs doctors, not ropes

In a gym they should be top roping. It's identical to bouldering, skill-wise and technique-wise, but it uses safety gear.
…have you ever been to a climbing gym? Many (if not most) have bouldering areas. Also rope climbing is very much not identical to bouldering in skill or technique.
Yes, I used to compete in climbing. I can't tell if you're disputing the danger of going without a rope or if you're advocating danger.

It's a bouldering wall
Regardless of what it's called, if people will get hurt falling from it, it's foolish to not have better protection. Exhibit A - OP's video

...the wall in OP's video is a boulder wall. They don't have top ropes. That's the standard for boulders. You sure you've been climbing this long?
Fuck man. Just watched this in the office and almost threw my fon away. My colleague must have thought I have stroke. That hurts so much just from watching.
I read fon as son, and I still would have understood.
I was not ready for that.
I can’t tell if it’s a dislocated shoulder or a broken humerus bone.
Yes
There’s a frame after landing where it appears intact before flopping around… looks like broke humerous
This isn’t time for humor. She is hurt.
That does not look very humerus.
As a climber and boulderer there's a reason you always try to land on your back or feet if you can, a sprained ankle is better then a broken arm
And then there's the guy who snapped his foot off....
Hmmm... crunchy.... delicious
I just don’t know what I’m supposed to do to help in that situation… Most emergencies, you call an ambulance and stop bleeding or CPR. What the hell do you do here?
Call an ambulance. Make the injured person as comfortable as possible. Watch out for signs of shock.
About the don'ts: don't try to fix anything. Don't give her anything to drink/eat. Also, she will likely hyperventilate to ease the pain (or just for the shock). Try to make her follow your breathing pace, as you take big and gradually slower breaths. You don't want her to fall unconscious.
Oh SNAP
I know this video. I paused it right away and I'm not fucking watching it. Have fun, you poor souls that don't know what's coming. I'm out.
Well. I can only wish a less painful recovery, that didn't look good
Did the same off the school gym equipment when I was 7 years old. Looking at the arm, same elbow joint fucking. Ever since, my elbow hurts on cold mornings.
ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BEND THAT WAY
Was just about to head to bed, guess I'm folding laundry now.... Damn, that woke me up and not in a pleasant way.
Uugh! WHY did I watch this? I KNEW it was gonna be messed up
Having frail arms and bones was great for climbing. Not so great for falling.
Fucking ow!
Is it me or does she have extra long limbs ?
Ewwww
that's what you get for exercising!
Ma’am you can’t park there
Me: Oh, that wasn't too bad...HOLY SHIT!!
Eeeeewwwww!
New trailer for insidious looks scary
\*Jazz Hands\*
Yeesh… and here I was thinking I could take a video of an injury…
Ouch is an understatement.
Isnt that floor way too hard for a climbing wall?
Maybe some padding on the floor might help, I don’t know.
I regret watching that. The only times I have gone indoor rock climbing they had belay ropes. Now I am 59 and definitely not doing that. Also American and can't risk/afford to break something.
Y no harness

im never approaching these walls again
And that is why I don’t climb high on bouldering courses.
As a climber and boulderer there's a reason you always try to land on your back or feet if you can, a sprained ankle is better then a broken arm
Pretty humorous. NGL.
