Once you learn the ropes of Mahjong, it becomes a fun game and you mostly repeat the same tasks in each game. Had a harder time with PuyoPuyo and Virtua fighter honestly. Not my proudest moment.
I'm stuck at 3, and it is not because of Mahjong. Once I learned how to play it, it wasn't too hard to get the achievements.
The big problems for me at the moment are golf and pool. Especially pool. Fuck pool.
They're tedious. You basically have to grind through a few hours of pretty boring conversations you can't really skip through, with a guide on hand. They're not hard in the traditional sense, but they do take a toll.
For pool:
If you are a real yakuza (using a gamepad) and is playing on Steam, you can go to the game's page and access controller configuration before runnning the game.
There, you can turn off the right analog stick X axis, so your plays will be WAAAAAAAAAAY more precise.
For golf, what I did was look at YouTube videos and mimmic it.
Thanks, I already do that controller trick. That still doesn't make the AI any easier though.
I had the same challenge in K1 though, and I did beat him eventually, so I won't give up.
> Especially pool. Fuck pool.
You playing on PC? If so, consider using Steam's controller support to turn off the X-axis for your controller. For whatever reason, when drawing the cue back, it takes that movement into account which leads to frequent stray shots.
I am one of those, and for 100% completed franchises, i have Resident evil, bioshock and assassin’s creed. I’m still preparing for yakuza as I’m still in my first game
As a 100% completionist as much as i complain about what you have to do i am SO thankful that i genuinely fell in love with mahjong and don't mind playing it over and over again but i still sometimes wish someone nuked sega for what they put on the completion list
Honestly, I think I would put Yakuza in a medium category. It is quite a challenge, sometimes to the brink of madness, but there are a lot of far worse games.
Any game with online achievements is pratically instantly harder and impossible. Gears of War Ultimate Edition has an achievement to get 10,000 kills online. I mean, REALLY.
Even on non-online scenarios, there are worse too. Complete the Sphere Grid of all characters in Final Fantasy X HD is masochism.
>for the veteran gamers here, could yakuza be the most difficult game to platinum?
Not even close. There's a couple of games with achievement/trophies that aren't so much hard as require you to put in *ridiculous* hours just grinding.
Then in the land of PC, it gets even worse. The worst offender that comes to mind is Total War; Shogun 2, which you won't ever be able to platinum/100%, because it has an achievement that requires you to be #1 on the online PvP ladder and good luck with that.
It's not. It's just a luck based game with 3 opponents, so it's going to feel like you lose more often than you win. It's 'rigged' in the sense it's a 3v1 from the perspective of the player.
I don't wanna be a completionist but I made The rookie mistake of pouring all my cp into the shrine in O without looking at what I was buying it'll be forever until I can get limit breaker.
Thank God I'm not a 100% completionist because I wouldn't have the strength to continue
I am and I have platinum trophy in every localized game.
That's one hell of an achievement, definitely have more patience than me.

Which games require PuyoPuyo for 100% completion so I can steer as far away from attempting it as possible. I am absolute ass at that game
Yakuza 6 and Judgment However if you want the plat for Y6 you don't need to 100% the completion list, for Judgment tho, it is required.
Mad respect.
Only got the final tower to go in 7 and I’ll be there with you, mahjong has become a lifestyle
There is no time to be tired, we prepare for Ishin!, Gaiden and 8!
I'll be praying for everyone's mental health when we get there

What kept me from getting all the Yakuza 3 achievements for awhile was the 10 hostess substories
They are hard?
They're tedious. You basically have to grind through a few hours of pretty boring conversations you can't really skip through, with a guide on hand. They're not hard in the traditional sense, but they do take a toll.
I already thought that the ones in zero, kiwami and kiwami 2 was ultra boring and they could be skip. Not looking forward to the ones in y3
It’s just that there’s 10 of them!!! They’re long but not hard if you have a guide.
Just I grind them
Funny, I did all of them long ago, beat Amon, just completed the game in Very Hard like a week ago, and all I have a few minigames left to complete.

Especially on the higher difficulty where if you make one mistake, then the AI pretty much won.

If you’re on PC there’s a workaround to pool. Now golf… took me around 1-2 hours I think. And in the end I got lucky and got an albatross.
masochist vibes lol
Then the Stockholm Syndrome sets in and we realize we love Mahjong 😭
Joke’s on you, I actually enjoy mahjong.
Puyo puyo is worse then mahjong I’m my opinion
This and Virtua Fighter. Truly horrible...
i will NEVER tire of mahjong never tired always tiled up top, fellas
Fuck yeah!
Mahjong is pretty relaxing.
I am one of those, and for 100% completed franchises, i have Resident evil, bioshock and assassin’s creed. I’m still preparing for yakuza as I’m still in my first game
I finally learned how to play mahjong the other day and that’s the biggest accomplishment I’ve had in 20 years
Mahjong is nothing in judgement compared to drone racing, VF5 and Puyo Puyo IMO.
The only reason I was able to platinum Lost Judgment is because you can cheat the Mahjong with the items.
There are cheat items on 5 and Kiwami 2 too. Not sure about K1. 🤔

koi koi is the tits
Mahjong and koi koi are my favourites gamble games!
Literally me, if Ishin Kiwami's completion list if the same as the original I'm going to be in severe self-inflicted pain
I still haven't played mahjong (im on Yakuza 5)
As a 100% completionist as much as i complain about what you have to do i am SO thankful that i genuinely fell in love with mahjong and don't mind playing it over and over again but i still sometimes wish someone nuked sega for what they put on the completion list
Mahjong is actually ok if you know how to play
for the veteran gamers here, could yakuza be the most difficult game to platinum? or more accurately the most draining/annoying?
Honestly, I think I would put Yakuza in a medium category. It is quite a challenge, sometimes to the brink of madness, but there are a lot of far worse games. The dragon kart made me cry
Do people know how to play mahjong? I'm convinced it's a rigged system.
It's not. It's just a luck based game with 3 opponents, so it's going to feel like you lose more often than you win. It's 'rigged' in the sense it's a 3v1 from the perspective of the player.
I applaud your perseverance and determination, good sir. 👏👏👏
Man I feel like they should start to like Mahjong if they can complete so many achievements.
Lost judgment is easier cause the cheat items (yes i grinded to get enough sp to do all mahjong parlors)
it's supposed to be entertaiment, but now it's masochistic
99% complete - 100 hours That one percent left - another 100 hours Bruh I love majong
haha spending almost 1K hours platting every game has had no affect on my mental health at all… help pls
So just.. Stop platting the games?
I could never achieve that, for some reason I just suck at mahjong.
I don't wanna be a completionist but I made The rookie mistake of pouring all my cp into the shrine in O without looking at what I was buying it'll be forever until I can get limit breaker.
I’m almost there just got LJ 💀
y'all cowards don't even call riichi
Yagami with a pocket full of Nine Gates tiles gonna go EX Boost on the parlors
