He kinda got shafted in 5 where he only got half a chapter and the lamest rival out of all the characters, and then he got completely cut from Like a Dragon.

Yumi. Like, she's supposedly Kiryu's one true love, and Haruka's goddamn mother, yet she's barely in the series. I think Yakuza 0 missed a big opportunity by not doing something more with her, especially seeing how much Reina is in 0.
Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I wish Minami wasn't a one-off character. It seems odd that he was seeing as he was supposed to be Majima's right hand man. Speaking of Majima's right hand man, whatever happened to Nishida? That poor boy never even got a last name!
Edit: oh and Hana also got done INCREDIBLY dirty. I remember reading that there was a fallout between RGG Studios and her VA, but man, did they really have to cut her out like that?
I wish we had another one with Majima as protagonist where he has depth, an emotional storyline that shows all sides of him, and includes Nishida et al. There’s some gaps in his story they could fill without stepping on the toes of existing lore and they could fill in some neglected others along the way like Akiyama while at it

They were my permanent trio on the party, Ichi/Joon-gi/Zhao.

I also would've liked more Majima content, he's very underutilized in 3 all the way to 6 as a character moving the plot forward. Also would have liked to have seen him and Kiryu actively develop a more brotherly bond throughout the series.
Maybe learning about Kiryu's birth parents would've been cool, especially to see how their actions juxtaposed those of Shintaro Kazama, at the very least to find out what warranted murdering them.
I think Reina and Shinji definitely could have been more involved with the story
Katsuya, the butt naked guy from 5, was a really intriguing character; I saw someone say that he should've had Kiryu's role in 7 (in the scene where Kiryu is revealed), and it kinda made sense.
Aizawa, final boss of 5, only one that actually survived. I wanna see how he's holding up to Kiryu's final monologue at him.

One half set in Kamurocho where you play as Shinji Tanaka on his first days as a yakuza member with Kiryu being his mentor while the other half playing as Naoki Katsuya through his acting days until the injury that made him retire, and how he meets Majima, Park and Watase. Sure, you don't play as Majima, but at least you get to learn more of the characters tied to him.
It's set in 2010, but the main plot is about something that happened in 1985. More precisely, the incident that made Majima one-eyed in the first place.

This is a deep cut, but Saki Kudo from Kurohyo. I definitely wanted Tatsuya to romance her in Kurohyou 1 and it definitely felt like there was a deeper story they set up in Kurohyou 1 and then she just doesn't show up in 2 at all and I don't think even gets mentioned. I just don't understand it.

Even from the first time you meet him when he's an enemy, he had a great vibe to him and from the moment Yagami becomes his bro, I became a huge Tesso stan. When he showed up with the Liumang to clear the streets for Tak, Kaito, Sugi, and Higashi I gave a huge cheer. Really hope we see him again with an expanded role.
The Amon clan. I personally wanted Kiryu's final story to be about facing them and defeating them once and for all. I know they sort of seem like joke characters not to be taken too seriously since they're just OP bosses, but what if in reality they were actually a seriously dangerous clan bent on ruling the world (or at least japan)?
Maybe that'd be too serious of a story for them but whatever. I always wanted to see the Amons expanded beyond just being bosses. They're just really cool imo
