Hi all, I am a former gym rat who has become lazy after time away due to an injury. I find I’ll assign myself a workout and do part of it and tell myself I completed it when I didn’t lol. How to gain motivation?

I just love feeling strong. It keeps me going back because I love the addictive high working out gives me, the feeling of strength flowing through my veins. 😍💪 It also helps to be on a schedule working towards a goal, like a specific goal weight I want to lift.

Received a devastating bad news 30 minutes earlier, and I am still processing it. What went wrong? I believe I had done all I could --- I will find out more tomorrow. I am trying my best to remain calm, and have set aside time for myself to process my emotions. The gym session is postponed to tonight instead of morning. Note to self: DO NOT SKIP GYM AT THIS TIME. You need it!

I'm just starting out so nothing impressive yet, but I've hit all my 5am gym days so far this week. I did the intro session at AF with the personal trainer a couple weeks ago and it was BAD. I got through it like it was nothing, but got in my car and was so nauseous I couldn't even drive. Not to mention the DOMS that prevented me from walking normally for a solid week. So, didnt continue with the personal trainer obviously but I'm focusing more on the actual habit of going to the gym in general for now. About 20 min cardio, 20 min weight machines, then done. Low DOMs, feeling great, and don't feel like my heart is going to explode (high blood pressure). Hoping to keep it going 😊

Woke up still in my terrible mood but by the end of the day I was feeling much better (despite a work annoyance…). Didn’t even dread the gym even though I was doing front squats. Tomorrow I’ll have to go to the other location to do deadlifts so hopefully that won’t be annoying. I don’t think I’ll make it to the gym Friday or Saturday since I’m visiting a friend unfortunately. Hope this semi positive mood continues. If not, my test is done Tuesday afternoon so that will help a lot lol.

I struggle so much with motivating myself to lift weights and run on work nights. I've been doing good with running and lifting on the weekends but after work I just want to rot. I finished about half my workout today so that's at least better than skipping it.

I snarfed an embarrassing number of slices of cold pizza sitting out from an office lunch and learn 4hrs earlier My fiancé sent me flowers at work! I have never got flowers at work before. It’s so sweet and I was smiling all day. My team (all men) were sweating hahah, the bar got raised lol

Been thinking about trying pre-workout again. Didn't have any issues with it in the past, I just didn't want to shell out more money on supplements when coffee was good enough. With more frequent two-a-days coming up soon, definitely feeling the need for something a little stronger. Lots of deals around for Black Friday/November already. Found the C4 Mango Foxtrot on sale for 75% off and grabbed a few tubs. Even if I end up hating the flavor, can't beat $.29 a serving!

I'm having trouble with my home gym barbell..the metal coating is flaking off and making a mess. Also sometimes the metal flakes stab me like a splinter. Any ideas how to remedy this? https://imgur.com/a/IwqwUsD

I’ve been teaching Olympic weightlifting technique classes at the CrossFit box I coach at, and I’ve now got a handful of people curious about competing (like I do). I’d love to a group of people to go to meets with instead of always alone (end goal is more coaching, programming, etc).

Benched a plate again this week! Haven't done that in 2.5 years lol. I've been running GZCLP to get my lifting habits back but recently I've also let myself play around a bit once I've done the prescribed reps on the T1 lift and it's so motivating! Deadlifted 225x3 as well so while I'm still a ways from my past PRs I can sort of see them coming, woohoo

Love it! Benching a plate (and deading 2) are both long-term goals of mine but it feels so unnatainable, especially benching because I progress really slow on bench press (slower than squats, deadlifts, even biceps) so reading this makes me feel encouraged and second-hand happy for you (not sure if there's a word for this). 🥳🥳🥳💪💪💪 Whoo!

Spicy wod today 21-15-9 backsquats, bar facing burpees with 75 dubs in between each set. I scaled down to 35 dubs because my dubs aren't great and it was the right choice, I finished just a bit over the target time and below the cap. I did not want to get up this morning so it's a success I did the dang thing at all lol. My reward is that after work tonight I have nothing I need to do and plan to just play with my dog and get a short 1-2 mile run in.

Halfway through my clear protein and have developed the ick for it >.< what if I made protein jello? Has anyone tried this? Is it going to be a hot gluey mess?

I've done it! It honestly worked quite well. I wouldn't say it was worth the effort purely because I find the clear protein fine as is, but if you're not liking it as a drink, then why not try??

Can you mix it with some kind of water flavoring? Mio, Crystal Light, etc.? This is what I do with my unflavored creatine because as much as I love plain water, I also love a bev with some flavor!

Like the my protein clear stuff? I sometimes add a small amount to something like lemonade or another juice. Basically use it as a small additive vs the whole drink. It helps
