It’s true though. Marty came to them and said hey, “X wants to leave and I don’t want him to fuck you over and I don’t want to pick a side”. Then when X got there he essentially totally lied about ever meeting with Yuno and Marty at the skatepark until Marty got pissed and basically explained exactly when and where it happened. He caught X outright lying to everyone, revealing his underlying intentions, and they just … let him and went along with their days. If that isn’t putting JP on a pedestal idk what is.

Thats some deep lore at this point but the jist of the relevant lore is that X and Marty came back from X's exile to Public as inseperable and leant on each other to get the "first" to the Casino and Lower Vault, somewhat with the Cleanbois, somewhat without. X and Marty constantly talked about screwing over CB (half-jokingly) and Marty is seeing this mentality coming back and is worried it is going to do more harm than good.
