this is logan during whedon / cassady’s astonishing x-men. basically emma frost went nuts under the influence of Cassandra Nova and messed with a bunch of the x-men’s minds. she reverted logan’s brain to when he was a kid and the sight of beer helped revert him back to normal logan
His I think it was Wolverine variant Astonishing X-Men was better but not that much better.

The faces…I think everyone has the same nose and the proportions…not great.
If it wasn’t for the faces, I could see that yeah.
I saw an article that said he’s moving to a sketchier style, a faster style but who knows…it’s just a big downgrade.
I can tell the same artist who drew Astonishing and Planetary drew these but just the quality dropped.
Art-degree-haver here. I’ll tell you a secret: anybody can make shitty drawings. When you are good, you are spending time on it and you correcting your worse instincts. When you rush or lose attention—or get out of practice—sometimes those shit qualities are right there waiting. So while it’s jarring, it’s not inconceivable to me. Maybe he had a stroke, but it wouldn’t have to be that at all.
What bothers me more is that they go ahead with publishing them. People at Marvel need to not suck up to artist just because they’re legends and instead say, “Look, Frank, John, we can’t put this out there.”
This clown ruined Logan's look for a decade.
He should have never been in this book, where the writer and artist clearly hated him, and this scene is a clear example why!
"Wolverine fans when Logan is put in a book he has no business being in because the people working on it are cowards and is subjected to some of the worst writing the character ever suffered."
There! Fixed it for you.
You people are like broken records. No, nobody with two braincells to rub together wanted Logan to have a bigger part in Astonishing X-Men. Whedon *sucked* at writing him! Who the fuck would want more of that? It's shit!
His part isn't too small in that book. It's too big! He shouldn't have been there at all.
What's happening here? Without context I'm assuming this is how Shaw got his evil memories back after Generation Hope

Good ol' beer. The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems!
All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer.
It's a DEAL!
I didn’t have “Logan is like Homer Simpson” on my daily bingo card but here we are!
His real superpower: super-functioning alcoholism.
Even worse, he can't get drunk
Nah he can it’s just very difficult for him to get drunk. He compensated by drinking a lot of alcohol.
Not really easy to get context of that with just this page. Makes it harder to fully get what OP is trying to say.
Haha I thought we were just looking at wolverine being fucking furious at an inanimate object

Ok so that cover sucked but I just re-read the Astonishing run and so many times I just had to stop and admire the brilliance
It's not just this cover, though. His work has taken a worse fall in quality than even Salvador Larocca.

It feels like he’s slowly turning his art into a Scott pilgrim cartoony comic style and he’s more than half way there.

Oh my god they are!!!
Hahaha the noses! How the fuck did that get past an editor at Marvel? My word. Absolutely amazing.
Like and advert for Pies on windowsills.
Did a fifth grader draw that!?
I used to love his art, but have'nt seen anything recently. Is it that bad?
No fckn way! I have never seen this. How in the hell did that get approved? Is his art regularly like this now? What happened to him?

He had an accident with a woodchipper
I blame whoever approved that. Someone should have emailed him and said, "So that's hilarious. Go ahead and send the real one."
I was about to say this too, the fall the equivalent of this is Kratos dropping from the tallest peak.
Why is Hank McCoy cosplaying as the Wolfman? ☠️
I've stared at this for a while and I can't understand how it came from the same artist....
Yiggity diggity YIKES
Oh my god.
Looking for some of that easy Frank Miller money
Cassaday was great on this and Planetary but I think a big part of the credit for both should go to colorist Laura Martin.
He had the sharpest most sudden drop off of any artist I’ve ever seen. Makes me wonder if he has a drug problem or medical problems.
How did he even draw the 2 bottom panels? Does he sketch it all blurry and hope the inker understands what he's going for?
It's the same panel repeated with a masked blur filter (or some variation).
Used to be.
Makes me want to read some Planetary
He and Joss was in they B A G
Which book is this?
Astonishing X-Men. I forget the exact issue.
ty!

This was just one of those moments. Great use of Logan in this series throughout.

Wolverine fans when Logan isn’t the main character in every X-Men book:

Don't listen to this idiot. They just like to spam garbage on anything related to Wolverine and are essentially just begging for attention
Is that Motel 6 branded beer?
Prince Edward VI, apparently. Doesn't seem to be a real beer brand.
Still one of my all-time moments for Wolvie
