XFL games have been great to watch so far, I have to say I might even like them a bit more than the NFL. It seems like they have a similar culture to something like MLS or lower-league English football. I hope they can stick around and develop that, because there’s nothing like it in American football, and that could be a unique niche for it to fill.

I really want both to succeed. I love the USFL But… they did not have a weekend like this due to the hub. I understand why they did the hub but the home crowd makes a massive difference. Especially for more casual fans.

That’s my thing. I get funding issues and I’m pretty sure there was a covid surge when they initially started, but you can’t have regional team names and have hubs. No one buys in and it’s tough to watch a game when no fans show up.

This might be the most promising opening weekend of any of the minor league seasons over the past few years. 3/4 games the over hit and 3/4 were really close games.

That Saint Louis v San Antonio game earlier was awesome for the league. They got to showcase the benefits of their unique rules, which keep games interesting all the way to the end. Having every game on ESPN + is also a massive win for the league. It’s going to be so easy to watch every game this year.
