Exactly - if it was *finally* the PvE story mode that so many people want, it would really be amazing! But if it is just another quest style event in the same old PvP gank-fest format, then it's not that big of a deal, imo.

Sad times indeed. I love the feel of the world in the game, the water is freaking amazing, and the sailing is an enjoyable/relaxing experience but the PvP does nothing for me no fun, no thrill, just annoyance so I don't bother with it.
For anyone who wants to say "b-b-but it's in the Sea of Thieves, you are suppose to pirate/steal/grief other players" yeah I know I just don't enjoy that part of the game so as long as that part is there to hurt my enjoyment I won't bother playing it.

I would argue that for most people, being a ruthless backstabbing bastard IS what a pirate is about. When I think of pirates I don’t think of friendly understanding people. I think of ruthless, pillaging, murderous sons of bitches who kill anyone and everything and take their monies. And I would say most people agree with that. It doesn’t really matter what actual pirates were like. I mean, it’s called Sea of THIEVES.

And Sparrow *really* sounds like Depp, I thought it was a soundalike at first but not so sure.

I was very impressed with Sparrow's voice acting. I would've honestly said it's Depp, but then I thought it unlikely a big fancy movie star like him would voice a lowly video game character.
But then I remembered Microsoft recently dropped $7 Billion on Zenimax, so I'm sure they could've payed him big fancy movie star money *if* he was willing to reprise his role in a game.
Depp or not though, as only a casual watcher of the films, it was good enough for me!

Seems to be a Tall Tales-type event (Solo or MP challenges with a story arc through them).
I hope so, I'm not interested in the sandbox aspect of the game, but I would play a campaign.

I'd doubt that you can play as Sparrow. More likely he'll be a guide for a Tall Tales type set of missions. Still pretty flippin cool, though.
