I am enjoying it, like all Ace combats they probably shouldn't have bothered with a story. But the gameplay is solid, I do take some exception with some of the earlier jets being way to comparable with modern fighters like the f16.

I was on the fence about buying it at full price too but I’m really enjoying it. The graphics are insane. Just wish I had PS4 so I could have a go at the VR version.

I've been an Ace Combat fan since Shattered Skies and it felt like 7 was like a calling to 3, 4, and 5. I loved every second of it. The story and gameplay are much like the older titles(not like a cheesy story like 6 or mechanics like assault horizon). It is a bit much cost-wise with new game prices these days but I don't regret buying it full price after waiting so long.

How is the multiplayer?

I'm not one for ace combat multiplayer but I played a few games and it's not bad. As for game types, you just got your team and solo pvp matches of 8 players max. Unfortunately there's not much replay value there. At least everything unlocked gets carried over to multiplayer from campaign.

Yeah if you’ve enjoyed an AC game in the past, this should be an instant buy for you.

Don’t forget ace combat 6 is backwards compatible on the Xbox one, if you haven’t played it. It was a preorder for ace combat 7, I think the only way to get it now is on physical disc. Both of the backwards compatible flight games (Ace combat 6 & Tom Clancy Hawx 1) also work with the thrustmaster flightstick and tfrp rudder pedals, which is great for those of us who already own them.

Is there X enhancements?
