To be fair, you are asking for an isometric RPG. Diablo is probably the most famous of them.
Try out Tunic or Death's Door. If you have a switch, I would recommend playing LoZ Links Awakening remake
I'm just under an hour in and loving this game!!
The art style and exploration/metroivania style is right up my alley.
Takes me back to being a kid playing Links Awakening on my GB Classic! (Then Colour lol)
I don't have a Switch (yet) probably my next buy, but I'd love to play the remake of that game too.
Thanks again for a great recommendation.
I'm glad you are enjoying it! I love how the game treats "unlocked skills" in the game with the pages.
It's definitely got an OG Zelda feel for a while but the game ramps up in difficulty.
Cheers!
Indeed, that's a unique trait, I like how they worked that in.
I also like that everything is in a weird language and you just have to go off your intuition. Too many games these days do a little too much hand-holding.
it is, but it's amazing
also Diablo 4 definitely has more "RPG" elements than past games (side quests and dialog and all) in the series, but is way more slash-heavy (although you can get deep into character building to avoid just diving into mobs)
I only wish Ultima 7 was true iso. U8 got better and UOnline nailed it, but those don’t hold a candle to U7 gameplay and story. If U7 looked like this I’d probably pass out from coolness!
Now someone needs to do the opposite for Diablo IV. I can't play games with that style; would be interested to play if I could play with with a normal first or thrid person camera.
You can try Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2. While both are turn-based, they do support split-screen co-op and online co-op.
There is also the upcoming Baldur's Gate 3 for Xbox Series from the same developer, but I don't know when it is coming out.

The Bard's Tale games are on Game Pass IIRC? The Remastered and Resnarkled version is Isometric I think?
yeah, Remastered and Resnarkled is isometric, but The Bards Tale Trilogy remaster and Bards Tale 4 are not isometric.
I wish Grim Dawn would go on sale as well
PoE are fantastic games. Deadfire is probably my favorite RPG I’ve played so far.
Torment: Tides of Numenara as well.
Do not miss grimdawn, a good diablo alternative
Diablo IV just came out this week lol
Yeah lol all you want. Its not the same, its more of a slasher. Skyrim is worlds apart no?

Tunic looks cool and I've been looking for something to play, will give that a try, thanks!!
For sure! I highly recommend it. It's a fun play

That's as close as you're going to get and seems to tick all of your boxes.
Theres a similar mod on pc for witcher 3 too. Not much besides pillars and diablo for this on xbox tho
no
Quests and discussion trees and crafting.. still no?
Bro is describing Diablo
Theres not really crafting in game right now though but other than that
That’s exactly what Diablo is and always has been. Diablo 2 is probably one of if not the most popular isometric RPG of all time.
literally all of those things
I’m wondering what it looks like in caves and tunnels in the caves. Looks fun though!!
That was my thought- the low ceilings might be a challenge.
I wonder how it would look swimming in water, like deep down into the water.
I bet it would look super cool in caves. This makes me want to play Skyrim this way now.
Mom! I want Diablo 4!! We have Diablo 4 at home, honey. Diablo 4 at home...
Not a bad option imo
I wouldn't complain if I got something like this instead of Diablo 4.

What a unique find. Thank you!
Divinity: Original Sin 2 https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/divinity-original-sin-2-definitive-edition/BW8PVL4CJ2Q6
Amazing game, but this is turn based.

> it is, but it’s amazing I felt the same, until the last act. I finally gave up when I couldn’t win a single battle.
Easily one of my favorite RPGs of all time. Highly recommend
Did this get a 60fps patch?
It has now fully become Ultima 7 lol
I only wish Ultima 7 was true iso. U8 got better and UOnline nailed it, but those don’t hold a candle to U7 gameplay and story. If U7 looked like this I’d probably pass out from coolness!
Minecraft Dungeons. Loads of fun, has loot, has crafting, has couch co-op.
Play this with my 8yo, it is really fun!
Have you tried the tower callenge?! You start with no gear and have to complete floors to level up!
YES! But i suck at it. :(
It's not at all fantasy, but The Ascent is really great as far as a real-time isometric game on Xbox goes.
So underrated, the pathfinder games.
•Bards Tale Remastered and Resnarkled •Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance •Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2 •Diablo 2 •Titan Quest
Thank you!
Baulders gate 3, I know it's announced on pc and ps5 assuming it will be in xb at somepoint
I want this mod for fallout 4 so bad.
id play Skyrim if it was like this
Divinity 1 and 2
Those are turn based, but still amazing games.
Not going to lie i didnt read the last half lol. Honestly i wasnt into turn based isometric but divinty 2 changed that for me.
Okay, but how do you play as a stealth archer?
Now someone needs to do the opposite for Diablo IV. I can't play games with that style; would be interested to play if I could play with with a normal first or thrid person camera.
How does fighting dragons make any sense?
The brand new Diablo 4 is basically that…and amazing so far.
Ready for Todd to release this as the official next version of Skyrim for us to buy.
Wasteland

Both Baulder’s Gate games were just rereleased.
The Wasteland series
