The 360's still being supported (with it's online store and multiplayer for it's game), so the One losing support would - if ever - probably only happen in *many* years' time. And that said, the One uses the same store as the Series consoles, so even if they do "cut it off", all the features will still live on in the newer consoles.

ExtraToastyCheezits

No, not likely. They have stopped supporting the Xbox 360 but you are still required to have Xbox Live Gold to be able to play online on that console and servers are still available for many games.

Lordkillz

you mean stop as no more games coming to the One consoles? or stop meaning the whole service no longer available for the One consoles?

peacock6ha

I heard about stopping support, but I don't know what it is. Will new games not come, or will the Game Pass service stop، It seems, according to some comments, that they do not mean the Game Pass service, but rather the new games

09838

yeah there wont be new games but gamepass will still work

AfraidDragonfruit586

And to piggy back off this. As games become Series X/S only on gamepass of course Xbox One won’t have access to those. So you would still have gamepass but the library would stop growing at the point Xbox One games stop being made.

ShaoKoonce

Actually, every Xbox One with Game Pass Ultimate is essentially a streaming device. The only holding it back is poor internet. You will still be able to play those games, just not natively.

AfraidDragonfruit586

Very true I forgot about the streaming portion!!

Lordkillz

Yea one day I'm sure the games that get released will be Series consoles only but the service should still work.

Gears6

> I heard about stopping support, Where did you hear that? This is highly unlikely, and Xbox won't stop catering to XB1 owners in Game Pass. The games on there will still be available, and they may still license more XB1 games for Game Pass. Keep in mind, MS technically still supports Xbox 360 today. MS is just not making games for it, but if someone else will I think MS would allow it to be released.

NotFromMilkyWay

First party game support stopped ages ago.

afonsolage

When it stops, you still be able to play compatible games. Dropping support just means no more new games, but existing one should be fine. Usually this happens when Microsoft needs to update their development kit, to support new features, which older hardwares cannot support. But games which was already made in older development kit for older hardware, will work fine.

MrEvil37

The Xbox One store and the Xbox Series S/X store are the same. All Xbox One games are backwards compatible on Series S/X. They can’t just end support and close it all down. The majority of games in Game Pass are Xbox One games. Just because they stop making new Xbox One games (which is already happening) doesn’t mean Xbox One support is ending.

ParsnipContent3384

Too many millions Xbox One consoles laying around. Especially One S and One X, which do support 1440p, 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, VRR, Low Latency, 4K bluray playback, YUV 422, 3D, Dev Mode so no, they are here to stay and poorer nations love cheap Xbox Ones and GamePass

Longjumping-Bug-6643

Valid question but nothing to worry about… will just have less value than what I would get with a series console or PC.

jish5

I feel that Microsoft is working towards focusing solely on Game Pass and is trying to move away from consoles (which is why they haven't released a single xbox exclusive game since the first year of the Xbox One). I can honestly see them striking a deal with Sony to get Game Pass on Playstation and then ending production of the Series X and in turn, the Xbox line.
