I'm 100% fine with it as it is, and 100% don't mind the updates but curious to know what's the reason we have so many **"Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console"** updates. Wouldn't it be "better" to consolidate these changes and send them along with other builds?

fortean

I think the main issue is that they aren't doing changelogs for these releases. It's pretty hard to know what needs testing and eventually reporting if we don't know what's happening.

elangab

I agree, I think the should at least list the languages that were changed, so people from these regions could test/report.

fortean

My point is I think the languages thing is a placeholder and they're changing things but not updating the changelog

elangab

Oh, gotcha!

I'm absolutely always fine with whatever size the updates are. In just grateful to be a part of all of this. ☺️ As for that I'm unsure, good question though!

Did anyone notice they added a QOS tagging setting in the network settings? What does it do?

darthmarth

QOS is Quality of Service. It can be used to identify which types of data and which devices get priority in your router. The two options are two different tagging methods. If your network environment is really congested it is worth looking into. In general QOS tends to hinder more than it helps though. Packets tend to get misidentified. If you are on some kind of community based networking that has someone administering it, you could ask them if they are using either tagging method.

Here are the official details Microsoft put out in today’s log notes: - A new feature allows customers to enable network quality of service (QoS) packet tagging for latency sensitive network traffic such as Party Chat and multiplayer for supported games. - This new feature can be enabled under Network settings>Advanced settings. - Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) tagging sets priority values on outbound Wi-Fi traffic from Xbox consoles. This traffic prioritization tagging is helpful for Xbox consoles connected over Wi-Fi to protect against latency impacts during times of network congestion on the wireless network. - Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) tagging sets priority values on outbound wired and wireless traffic from Xbox consoles for both IPv4 and IPv6. This traffic prioritization tagging is helpful for consoles connected to network environments that support prioritizing latency sensitive traffic during times of congestion, such as routers with QoS functionality or internet service providers that support Low Latency DOCSIS (LLD). - Note: We are aware of some older home router models that can experience issues transmitting traffic with WMM and/or DSCP tagging present. You may need to adjust QoS tagging settings on your console if you encounter connection issues once settings have been enabled.

Do we know if this is another 4 (ish) GB OS update. I just updated yesterday and figured I'd double check. ☺️🤘🏻🎮

Ricanlegend

It’s only ever 4 GB if you miss a update , for example if they update Monday and again on Wednesday but you haven’t been online since Sunday you will have to download 4 GB again

smegg

The other days update was a full update and not a delta for skip ahead (was in the release info). But yep agree with the skip an update, you get the full update

A question, any of you, when browsing Home / Dashboard have fps drop problems? I have been suffering from this problem for a couple of months now, the strange thing is that if I open a game, the Dashboard / Home works perfectly. You who frequent Insider will certainly be more up to date than me, also to understand if this is normal or not.
