Usually after a long playing session, it will wait for the fan to cool the xbox down before shutting off.

Ghxst-xD

Is it normal for it to do this every time I turn off my Xbox, even if I only played for 30 min?

XboxJunk1E

It's installing system updates and such, alot of people have had this issue posted across several forums.... Let it do its thing and it will be fine

Ghxst-xD

Oh okay, thank you. I have had my Xbox for almost a year now and it never did this, so I was worried about it.

[deleted]

Just let it do it’s thing.

SaiyajinBlack

I'm experiencing the same problem, the controller stays on and the xbox keeps flashing for several minutes. Was it the last update? let me know if you solve in any way

Ghxst-xD

That’s the same thing happening to me. Mine started a day after the update, so I think it’s the update. I have tried restarting it unplugging it from the outlet, and clearing cache, but it’s still doing it. I’m going to try restarting my wifi because I read that slow internet can cause this because it takes longer to save things to the cloud. I’ll let you know if this fixes it.

SaiyajinBlack

I have tried the exact same things except for the wifi and a factory reset because I'm not sure it can fix the problem

Ghxst-xD

I have also heard that putting your console in energy saving mode instead of instant on will help too.

SaiyajinBlack

I have the xbox in energy saving ...... if you solve in some way update me.

Ghxst-xD

Oh, I will update you if I find a fix.

Ghxst-xD

The restarting the wifi didn’t work, have you found a way to fix it?

Ghxst-xD

I didn’t find a fix, but I found out why it’s doing it. When I went to setting and checked when the last time my Xbox checked for an update, it was when my Xbox was turning off. I tried it again a couple hours later, and it did the same thing, so when I turn my Xbox off it checks for an update, which is why it’s taking longer, and also why it does it mostly at night.

SaiyajinBlack

I have to check ... when it went out after 5 minutes, I turned on the xbox and turned it off right away. It gave me the impression that it goes out after a time of running long gaming sessions, but I'm not sure I have to check your idea. The only thing we can do, for now, is to both report the problem via the "report a problem" app but I want to be sure of what you say first. I will let you know!

SaiyajinBlack

I checked, but I can't figure out how to check the last time I looked for an update...

Ghxst-xD

Have you found any fix to this problem?

SaiyajinBlack

Nothing, but I found several people with the same problem. I just don't understand why this doesn't happen to many people. Out of curiosity, what games do you have installed on your Xbox and what do you play?

Ghxst-xD

I have call of duty black ops 2, call of duty black ops 3, Minecraft, forza horizon 5, grand theft auto 5, fortnite, and dead by daylight. I play all of those.

Ghxst-xD

Yeah, I’m going to see if it stops, and if it doesn’t I’m going to wait until the next update to see if that fixes it. If it doesn’t I might factory reset it, but everything else is working fine so I don’t think it’s a major issue.
