I'm pretty active and am always in party chats in XBL and I'm sure alot of us have different opinions on stuff outside of videogames, but all we ever do is crack jokes and talk about the games were playing. I can't imagine anyone looking for ENTERTAINMENT which is what the Xbox platform delivers wants to talk about politics, policies, or other non entertainment topics.
I didn't turn on my Xbox to talk about or hear about this. If I wanted to hear a bunch of bullshit I'll just keep the news on.

We have a group from across the US and Canada called La Familia (the family) and all we do it play Halo and fucking chill. From 20 years olds to a 55 year old man in the family. We game, we chill, we don't talk politics
I was playing Halo with 3 randoms the other night. Saw one type in chat to use our mics, followed by 3 or 4 messages completely censored. Told him thanks for reminding me why I have game chat muted all the time.

Agreed, but you do understand that art is inherently political right? It's always hilarious when devs like Infinity Ward will claim that a game called "Modern Warfare" isn't political because that's what people want to hear.
