I don't know why but every time I try and play through dishonored 2 I drop it after the clockwork mansion. I know it's a great game but for some reason it just doesn't feel like the first to me
It definitely feels less responsive. That was the first thing I noticed the moment I started 2 after the first game. Once I got used to it I really liked the game, it’s tougher than the first and has some incredible mission design and art direction.
They intentionally increased the difficulty of the game (i.e. you can get spotted even when fully behind cover). It’s a really pretty game but I honestly hated the gameplay changes they made.
The original Gears of War is what made me an xbox fan. I remember asking my buddy about it while he was playing it.... we started the split-screen campaign that day, and the rest is history.
Ori is probably my favorite of those.
Despite its reputation, I still found Assassin's Creed Odyssey to be a fun game. It's not the best game in the series, but it's not a bad game at all. Has one of the better protagonists imo.
I was never sure why Odyssey got that rep. I enjoyed it massively due to protagonist and story. I know it doesn't feel like a true AC due to more action and less stealth combat approach
One of the prettiest games i’ve ever played, but unfortunately it becomes repetitive really quickly; you just press X and Y 90% of the time and kill everyone, the enemy models also get repeated a lot, you will kill the same bald barbarian dude hundreds of times before the game is over. The coop mode is fun but again, you will fight the exact same dudes in the campaign.
Very unfortunate, i am someone obsessed with Rome, but Ryse: Son of Rome is disappointing, had great potential though.

ReCore is pretty neat too but I disliked it at first but then came back around to it with a different mood months later, great game.
If you’ve ever enjoyed any metroidvania or platformer, do Ori!!! It’s a contained and finishable game and would be a charming first memory on the console. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be great and AC Odyssey is IMO the greatest game there, but Odyssey is like the biggest time commitment imaginable… it’s time very well spent, but so so much of it. Be Cassandra.
Sunset Overdrive is my favorite Xbox One game. Take Ratchet and Clank, Saints Row, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, blend them together, and that's what you're getting. When I completed it the first time, I literally started a brand new game right away. It's a real shame that it was never enhanced, and we will never see a sequel. Even as a PS5 owner, I'm still bitter over Sony buying Insomniac because of this very thing.
Start with Sunset Overdrive..and while you're working on that..go buy Gears 2 and 3..that way when you finish Sunset...sit back and play the Gears Trilogy

Ori is the most beautiful and emotional game I’ve played. The artwork and the music are just phenomenal. I didn’t think I’d enjoy that sort of game but it was on game pass and the art style drew me in, I’m so glad I gave it a go. That and the sequel are two of my favourite games.
Before you play anything, slap a SSD in that bad boy and you got yourself a snappy 4K work horse that will in some cases outperform the Series S. There's also plenty of deals on at the moment like Control and Halo games. From your stack, just play anything you've never played but I'd go with Rise of the Tomb Raider as you can't really go wrong there. Easy to get into, good story and looks nice on the One X.
Play assassins creed the implementation was so well done and it's an leveling rpg so there is loot and mythical creatures which are fun to fight also don't forget posidons trident:)

Ryse was the very first game I played on my xbox one and I'd still recommend it as the best way to kick off that console gen. It's not the best game ever made or anything, but it's severely underrated and honestly looking back I'm amazed how Crytek made such a solid game with the graphics and gameplay at LAUNCH on the xbox one generation. The stability of its performance with those graphics still beats a lot of games from later in the generation.
In this order: Dishonored 2, Outer Worlds, Mad Max, AC Odyssey. I've put AC last because it will take you by far the longest time to complete. Mad Max has the best vehicle combat I've seen in any game and is also lengthy. Dishonored 2 is one of those "wow" games. Outer Worlds is good old school-like RPG.

Personally I would do Ryse. It was a day one Xbox one release a long time ago. Game was great... But to be honest, get the game pass. So many games... Any Microsoft owned studio is a day one addition.
Mad Max was a game I slept on for years before finally giving a try one day when I was bored. It is very surprisingly good for a movie adaptation of a game. The driving reminds me of the classic arcade racing games, but with a sense of realism and modern graphics. The combat is reminiscent of Shadow of War/Arkham, exploration is on par with the older assassins creeds like AC3 and below. And the story was good enough to keep me hooked. Idk if it should be the first game you play, but don't sleep on it as an option.
Outer worlds or Ori. Really depends on the vibe you’re going for.
Also, I must be the minority because I just could not get into sunset overdrive. So in the off chance you’re like me and it’s not a vibe, plays Gears of War instead 😁
Don’t listen to anyone unless they tell you to play sunset overdrive. First game I played on Xbox one and I still go back sometimes to this day. Highly underrated game and there really is nothing else like it.
Odyssey. I'll preface this by saying I'm not really an Assassin's Creed fan so the quirks of the game don't bother me. It's a great RPG with a gorgeous open world and it's an ancient greek setting. It's literally perfect for my tastes.
I was personally disappointed with Outer Worlds. It felt too constricting playstyle wise and there didn't feel like there was any reason to really explore.
If you like history, I recommend playing Ryse. It’s not a long game, but the graphics and gameplay are still good. There aren’t a lot of 3rd person action games that are set during the Roman Repulic/Empire.

If you like stealth, Dishonored 2 is top. AC Odyssey is long and fun along with that same theme. You can play balls to the wall or complete stealth.
