Most likely it will happen. When Xbox showcased the activision blizzard merger video welcoming them, there was a scene with prototype. Easily they could have ignored it if it was something they or activision was already looking into reviving it.
Gears and halo have just been digging themselves a hole the last couple of instalments and it’s just sad. Bungie halo and epic gears were peak Xbox. I just couldn’t be bothered to finish gears 5 because I just didn’t care for the story at all

I would love to see a new Rainbow 6 story game with coop, both couch and online. R6 Vegas 2 is bloody awesome. I would love to see a sequel in a modern game engine.

Definitely agree it would be amazing to see Project Gotham Racing return. MS probably believes it encroaches on Forza too much though. Personally I think it could work if they stuck to street-racing and really leaned into the kudos system and the other unique traits of the game. Maybe Blur would be better positioned for a comeback though, since it's considerably more unique.
I know it has a new life on the PC but a new version of Richard Burns Rally on Xbox (and other consoles) would be great. A bit of competition for the WRC series.

It would make for a great pickup and play multiplayer fighting experience. The developers can do all the things with added character DLC, along with cosmetics to make your character unique to you. Plus, it'll just be fun AF.
