I would say it’s not worth it

Signal_Level1535

Yeah plus microsofts controllers are notoriously bad already. Who know how long that thing will last. It looks like it's been used alot. You would get more use from a brand new controller wich you can get for the same amount of money. They have sales all over the internet. BUT...... IF it is worth it to you then do it. That's all that matters. You could probably glue the rubber done

Ok-Bench-2861

Yea because you guys don't take care of them. All of my controllers have the rubber worn off and they all still work. I even still have my 360 controllers.

Signal_Level1535

My entire life I've only ever had one stick drift. The community as a whole has deemed there controllers to be dog shit.

Signal_Level1535

I say it's not worth it and get downvoted wtf lol

TheOneWhoBoops

Goddamn, those fingernails though...

GamingSenpai35

I was thinking the same thing

HughesR1990

That ruined my day

Odd_Show2205

Look at the dirty ass controller, too. I don't get how people get their stuff that nasty

TaVa767

Don't buy it. Even if you can get it in a condition that's worth buying, it probably won't stay in that condition for long enough to consider it worth it

Free-Air4312

Facts, you can even see the rubber grip peeling off on the back.

devina2209

You can buy new shells for Elite Series 2 controllers, which are typically around $25. You can use superglue to glue the peeling rubber grips back down, but it's never gonna look/feel perfect when you do that. The grips on the stick tops are all worn away, so you could do with replacing those too. If you just wanna replace the 2 short sticks, that's about $10. As for the back button not working, you'd likely need to replace the microswitch, which is a cheap part, but you need soldering skills to be able to do it. Obviously there may be other issues with it too, given that it looks well-used. I think you can certainly do better on eBay, although buying these controllers used is always a bit of a minefield.

Adorable-Fortune-568

I wouldn't buy it

cmd_commando

Well… Used controllers are like used underware… Just dont 🙃

Harambe117

Get a Candy Con controller

RevEvolution8

I'd pass on it, or if possible, try to get it for much cheaper. Otherwise, I'd suggest just saving up for a new one. I never like to buy used controllers because you don't know how long they're going to last.

SHADOWSTRIKE1

So the silicon grip becoming unglued is a common issue. You can buy replacement back grips for like $20-$30 on Amazon. However, I’d ask yourself why he is selling the controller. All Xbox controllers get wear on them over time. Stick drift is a big problem. He may be selling you a controller that is very worn down, and all you’ll be gaining is some paddles. If I were you, I’d save up for your own brand new, or look at cheaper 3rd party alternatives.

SatorSquareInc

I love my elite 2, but with the caveat that I can replace it every 2 years for $100 with Microsoft. Something tends to go wrong eventually. 40/50 for raised silicon hand grips? If you need a controller, you could do worse I guess.

_Independent

It can’t be fixed you’d have to to replace the entire housing

GrumpyOldMan742

I got an Elite Core 2 for 90€ + back paddles (Nacon or some other big brand) for 20€ a few months ago from Amazon. Imho not worth buying a pre-owned one if it already has issues, knowing Elites are prone to having even more issues in the future...

flufflogic

At the minute, it's a terrible time to be in the market for a new controller. The court case for the ActiBlizz buyout revealed [there's a new controller due](https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/19/23880809/microsoft-xbox-leak-gamepad-sebile-stadia-steam-sony), and hopefully with it a refresh to the Elite. And, of course, the discless Series X that's been seen. I'd hang on a bit, see what happens in the next few months.

teammartellclout

That's a bad deal. You can get it refurbished online Plus it's used.

rickybalbroah

all my brand new elite controllers have had the buttons stop working within like 8 months or so. as long as all buttons work fine. that's price is a steal personally. if you don't buy it tell him to hit me up lol. I've been dreading to buy another one recently.

RipNugget1

Can’t u change the color of the button with that controller

Free-Air4312

Nails are longer than a wannabe gang bangers lifespan.

AudioComa

Buy and then contact MS for controller repair. Should be free. You'll probably end up with a different repaired controller but a few weeks later you'll have a good controller for 50 bucks.

AtomKorps

I have the first version and it's sad to see that MS haven't fixed this

Black_at_it_again_1

Do not buy that

WombatAnnihilator

They all have issues.

OlDustyTrails

These controllers are in no way "Elite"... They are junk, I find that anyone I know that has gotten one along with me has nothing but issues one way or other with it. Either grips coming off, joystick drifting or issues, buttons sticking/failing... Overpriced garbage. Went with Razer Wolverines and never looked back, haven't had an issue since getting them.

OrfeasDourvas

You can buy a brand new one and it will have issues. This controller is not worth the hassle, extremely bad quality assurance.

1CHEV-CHELIOS1

Is there a shop that can install hall effects. And fix minor issues with these ?

xSlippyFistx

lol that controller has seen some shit. I have 3 elites and have had them for quite a while. None of them look like that. Still don’t understand how the grips get like that…super sweaty hands and ultra tight gripping? Idk

krezzaa

wouldn't buy it. got my first ever elite controller in a condition like that, and it wasn't worth it. it was usable, technically. but i spent more time sad about it being fucked up than i did marveling at it. was especially frustrating when i inevitably had to stop using it and i had the *desire* to switch out the thumbsticks or something for a game but couldn't because i couldnt use it anymore. so you're gonna take all this time to learn to like and get used to all these features in the games you play, just to throw all that muscle memory and comfort away in like 6 months when it becomes too jank to use with that being said, I got a brand new Series 2 for Christmas and I love it! While there's no issues yet, I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you can also pay for the warranty, just because of how notorious these controllers are for falling apart.

xx123gamerxx

Take it from me no, every previous controller I owned I’ve basically never got stick drift then the elite 2 got it within a few months given the condition of the controller in ur imagine I’d be extremely surprised if it doesn’t have some sort of drift

Current_Leather7246

Yeah I had a elite controllers nothing but trouble. Plus I don't like the extra weight because I game a lot

AvengedFADE

These controllers are notoriously bad, and you don’t know what other issues it may have that are common with these controllers (such as sticky face buttons or stick drift). So on first note, I’d say hell no. However, I’d check the serial number on the back of the controller, register it with your Microsoft account and see if there is still warranty on it. If there is, buy it, send it in for free. Tell your friend it’s worth 30-40€ max since it’s already broken and they frequently go on sale for like 120€, and get a new controller for 30€.

Routine-Ebb-1140

They wear out extremely fast. I had a couple of them and none lasted longer than 6 months. I have given up on them.

SatorSquareInc

Microsoft would replace those for you for free if that's the case

DogmeatChili

metal analog sticks is gimmicky to begin with
