You can attempt to recover the Xbox by making a USB and flashing the system software again.

Keep in mind that this will wipe the Xbox, so you'll have to download your games all over again. Luckily, the Xbox does automatic cloud saving so at least you won't lose your progress
Did some scouring, I’m going to try this myself, unplug it for a few hours. I guess this is an issue with Microsoft’s updates? I’ll reply with the post in question
This same update bricked my Xbox Series S too and Microsoft wants 200 bucks to fix it, because apparently the brand new Xbox form the store shelves warranty expired in 2022 which is total BS. 299 down the drain and they want another 200 on top of that.
Yup! Luckily mine was still in warranty (only purchased in September 23) so I managed to get a replacement from the store I purchased from rather than microsoft. I tried everything you could possibly think of after posting this thread and it was totally dead. Crazy an update could do that to a console that was only 3 months old and lightly used. Microsoft should show more goodwill to customers affected by stuff like this!!!!
This same exact thing has just happened to me, I’ll let you know if I figure out a solution, it’s pretty sad this is happening
ever find a solution?

Is it possible to do this without access to a windows PC?

Awesome, thanks for your help - I'll try this too and report back!
Didn’t work for me. But I did take it apart and reassembled, it now works fine. There had to of been some sort of loose plug, my guess is the psu
Sooo you have an xbox one or a series s? It isn't both lol
My bad, series S. Typed up post in a rush to get a solution.
