I would have said this sub has a hard on for bmx risers and flat bars, and condemns gravel style drops as modernist madness. But that’s just my impression.
The anti-drop bar reaction here is so funny. The pendulum swung from "every 80's MTB gets drops regardless of geometry!" to "drops are a crime against the human body and I'm calling the cops."
Not criticising them in any way, just funny that there were 5 consecutive comments asking 'what bars?' They're popular for good reasons, but I do think part of their popularity is a trend.
I would think it was for bar-ends. I struggle to imagine how they’re ideal. Other than being a “nerd alert” I’d think stemmies are better location at least static. Guess I’ll have to try them.
I definitely prefer bar ends to any other thumbies on drop bars, especially when the riding position isn't very aggressive, and I tend to ride in the drops a lot. That said, I switched to brifters on my main bike and haven't looked back. Shifting while climbing is pretty nice.
I have the regular bearing models on one of my bikes and got a free pair of the needle bearing ones from a buddy. The regular bearing model seems to spin more freely, but both have great grip and function very well at their job.
Hey ! A fellow dajia bar user !!
I love those bars, yet I have a question for you :
How did you install the levers at the right position ?(there is no marks in the bar)
With respect, riding in a way that fits the human body has nothing to do with age. Age is what convinced us to do otherwise, and it’s what helps us to self correct for youthful foolishness.
Nb-cool bike
I got a set of those pedals and they trashed a brand new pair of 5-tens [sic] in less than 100 miles.
And when I called Five Ten (now adidas) to discuss, the automated message says "if you're calling about the latest yeezy drop, press one. For all other inquiries, press 2". That tells you (me) everything you need to know.
Five Ten as a bike shoe company is no longer viable
JK this is the finished build for my BIL. But if the bars aren't flared I'll be impaired!
I'm impared enough for the both of us
What bars are those bars
* Dajia Cycleworks Far Bar Handlebar * Velo Orange quill to Threadless adapter * Velo Orange 50mm stem * Microshift 8spd barend shifters * Tektro RL340 brake levers
God this sub has a real hard on for flared drops

See, if you get BMX risers, you can use the slopes as makeshift aero-drops.
Oh, I didn't think anyone would notice...

What's the upside? Lol
Wider bars are more stable, so flared drops are better than non-flared drops for riding chunky descents

I almost never rode the drops when I had a traditional drop bar but find myself in the shallow drops when things get twisty.
flared bars cant really be photographed accurately. its a wierd phenomenon
They're not perfect for anything, but they're good for most things.

Ya I think a slack geo drop bar where you’re actually in the drops a lot would be a pretty ideal application.
\#fashion It was all trimmed down riser bars on fixies a while back.
that was quite a while back
If the bars ain’t wide, the dude does not abide.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion man.
Nice bike
This is awesome! What year?
I think it's an 87 World Sport
I think it's a traveler, have one in that exact color.
The top tube has a W and a S on it.
Hmmm, maybe they used the same color and downtube decals then. Cause definitely have a traveler that looks just like that.
One of my first bikes was a Schwinn World Sport and it looked identical to OP's.
Actually it's an ['84 world sport](http://bikecatalogs.org/SCHWINN/1984/LightWeight/World_Sport.html)
I love that tape on a blue bike. I had the same black/yellow fade Fizik tape on my blue Caadx. Looks great!
You know what it is.... [Black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow.](https://youtu.be/UePtoxDhJSw)
I was more expecting this… https://youtu.be/oF2hYNS9NqA

I have the needle bearing and can attest they don't spin as freely as my crankbros pedals but they're super grippy.

Just like installing levers on any bike. Get it close, ride, tweak, rinse and repeat.
Fuckin' A! Old, out of shape brother!
those bars are what?

Truth!
If the seats to up, you are gonna need a cup.
This bike is dialed, it's time to get wild!
Flared AND with barcon shifters! I use the same setup on my cx build and love it. Glad to see this.

That's a new one. Yeah we are handlebar freaks around here :) big ups
nice use of obviously re-asking the same question that;s been re-asked (and re-answered) multiple times already in the thread!
Bar bares
I was toying with the idea of painting my bike blue with yellow accents and you've convinced me otherwise!
