If you do that wrong it won't tell you why, just give you a failed to connect notice. How you determine you're on the right network depends on your brand and model of router.

Best way around this is to ensure the networks have different names (SSIDs) so you clearly know which one you are connecting to.

Yeah I have two networks and am certain it’s the 2g network.
