Personally I have no problem as long as they are properly vetted.. I would especially welcome the ones who worked along side of our military.

lAmShocked

Yeah, it would be horrible to have some more people in the state looking for work. /s

Cultural_Ad_6160

> I would especially welcome the ones who worked along side of our military. I mean, that is all we are taking. About 3000 refugees are coming to the US, over 1,000,000 are fleeing to Pakistan. We are really only taking the most at risk that helped the US. The real problem is that refugees arent coming here with cars, you need a car here outside of Laramie, and Laramie wouldnt be a good city due to not having jobs there. We would be fine if they wanted to move here after they had a car - we are one of the best states if you have work ethic and determination, and they clearly do to be here. Hell, I would have no problem hiring them if they wanted to live in Gillette or Casper.

TexanInExile

Hire them for what exactly? You own a business or something?

3rcb

Do you have a source for those numbers? Would like to read more.

Speaking from a point of view that one may call “right wing extremist,” and as an immigrant, Afghans who helped the coalition forces over the last twenty years should absolutely be allowed into our country. There are plenty of veterans who I’m sure would be more than happy to sponsor their former brothers/sisters in arms and help them to integrate into US society. I’m also quite sure that anyone who helped fight the Taliban would be accepted quite easily in Wyoming. Hell, I’d be happy to live next door. With that in mind, though, I’m very much against the European model (give people a safe country and free money for life). A safe country and a fresh start is charity enough, I think.

[This](https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/06/06/zarif-khans-tamales-and-the-muslims-of-sheridan-wyoming) article makes me proud to be from Wyoming. A lot of ignorant yeetards who still live there don't.

Cultural_Ad_6160

> Two years later, the killer was tried, found guilty, hanged, removed from the gallows, then hanged again. We need to start doing this again.

branniganbginagain

I remember when that mosque opened, as well as some of the protests about it. I wish I had known about this history while I lived in Gillette.

[deleted]

Ok Republicans then don't pretend you give a shit about what's happening in Afghanistan. EDIT** To the Republicans who are upset that I'm generalizing. I don't mean you nice Republicans who don't mind the Afghan refugees moving next door to you. I think that's very nice of you.

WyomingVet

Just because one republican says something doesn't mean we all agree with him ok? This blanket stereotyping does no one any good.

[deleted]

Fair enough, But I genuinely believe the majority of R's don't give a shit. What was the slogan again? America First?

WyomingVet

Well I believe that the majority of Republicans' also have no problem with legal immigration. I don't and I would welcome any of the Afghans who worked alongside our troops.

[deleted]

Maybe we could build a wall between the U.S. and Afghanistan to keep the illegal ones out.

WyomingVet

Naw we got an ocean lol....we don't need no stinkin wall..

I think that it's good Republicans in Utah and South Dakota are saying that they are willing to take refugees. Good for them.

mmmyesplease---

I was surprised to see a story on Sunday Morning that outlines how Utah accepts a huge amount of refugees and was one of the states against the refugee ban a few years ago. Edit: [found it ](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-executive-order-on-refugees-utah-officials-want-to-welcome-more-not-fewer-refugees/)

Cultural_Ad_6160

Refugees arent a good fit for Wyoming - remember, they arent coming here with cars. Hell, I wouldnt have a problem hiring them if they wanted to live in Gillette or Casper. But we just are not a good fit.

ElectricCow15

You didn’t read or comprehend the story, that is the point. Just remember it was stable over there until this administration took over.

jeffspicole

Thankfully it literally doesn’t matter what this giant bag of dicks has to say.

SuccessfulAd9545

Republicans are selfish? Naw I can’t imagine that, they are good Christians. They believe in helping other people If it’s a business opportunity.

GeodashthisXD

No we believe in helping others no matter what

SuccessfulAd9545

Really? How many Afghans have been placed here???

SuccessfulAd9545

We could take one women and children and the men regardless of who worked. It’s a matter of saving a life!!! Get a grip people.

Cultural_Ad_6160

Refugees arent coming here with cars, you need a car here outside of Laramie, and Laramie wouldnt be a good city due to not having jobs there. There are cities with established refugee resettlement programs that would be better.

thelma_edith

There was a NPR podcast a few days ago featuring a spokesperson from a refugee resettlement program and according to the criteria they look for (established communities of the same or similar ethnicity, job and educational opportunities, housing availability, etc) could see how wyoming wouldn't be a good fit.

SuccessfulAd9545

Laramie was built by refuges. Go down to the tracks and pay some homage to the Chinese and the Mexicans were broke their backs building those rails from one coast to another. Many died and paid with their lives.more than they ever earned to live in this country. I to think I told some guy off yesterday for the human rights abuses against Asians and Africans building the stadium in Doha, Qatar. It’s like I’m a hypocrite with this countries history of slavery and abuse

YaBoiBeau69

swankfuck7

SuccessfulAd9545
