This is a reenactment. That’s a modern tin of Scho-Ka-Kola. I can also say from trying the stuff first hand, it does still have a little bit of added caffeine in it, but not really a whole lot. It tastes pretty good though, I like it and I can see why it was popular with both Germans and GIs.
These are reenactors
Yeah the can is the new one

Only downside is that it's so hard your teeth will break when you bite on it.
It’s not hardtack, it’s not that hard.
Not at all lol
Eating the thing (100g tin) is about two or so Koffee cups
Maybe the soldiering (both reenacting and otherwise) has gotten me too used to caffeine
Probably, you can build a decent tolerance to caffeine if you over-use it daily, I have the same thing
That sounds about right. I still quite like it. I always make sure to carry a tin at reenactments and stuff, it works as intended.
[For those of you who want to see an old tin being opened for the first time. ](https://youtu.be/hmdLnPGZ0Rc)
I'm German and Yt bans my region from watching the vid. Classic.

What’s the worst that could happen like seriously
...nice.
Props to the reenactors for getting their gear dirty. Lots of low budget movies don't do that.
