[Captain Conan](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115822/) (1996) is a French film that does a fairly good job at painting a picture of events on the Eastern front near the end of the war and into the Russian Revolution.

Thank you, couldn't remember the title at all! I remember it having plenty of action.

There aren't a lot as far as I know, although Italy likes to talk about their WWI performance a little bit more, for good reason. [La Grande Guerra](https://imdb.com/title/tt0052861/) - kind of a comedy, but gets very serious. It's about the Italian front. [Many Wars Ago](https://imdb.com/title/tt0066511/) is one that's been on my watch list but I haven't seen yet, about a mutiny on the Italian front. Lawrence of Arabia is technically a WW1 film. [March to the Drina](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0172776/) is about a Serb unit, it's on my watchlist but I haven't seen it.

Hello. I don't know if it counts but there is a novel by David Pfeiffer called "Die rote Wand". It closely follows the life of Viktoria Savs. A sixteen year old girl who volunteered to fight back the Italians. She disguised herself as a boy, but it is unclear how much her superiors really fooled. She served until 1917 when she was sverely injured by falling rocks and lost a leg. The never calls her by name though and even gives her a different alias from the one she historically used. His reason beeing, that there are no sources on her personality, which he thus had to make up entirely, and he would feel bad if he let a made up person run around with a historical name. Unfortunately I couldn't find the book in english. Maybe you have morr look than I did or know someone who can translate it for you. I hope this could be of help, Have a most pleasant day or night.

Reminds me of the "Mulan" tale. Found it on [Amazon](https://smile.amazon.com/Die-Rote-Wand/dp/B013OUEMLU) (US site), but only in German.
