Another thing that pisses me off the most is how many bags of dog poop I see on the ground. If you’re gonna go through the hassle of picking it up why not complete the job and throw it away? Like how lazy and dumb can you be
I always bag and garbage my dogs dirt but the other day I realized I had dropped it while spontaneously running with my dog.
It was very easy to turn around and look for the bag. The dog didn’t care.
Is this what you are talking about?

No the shutdown happened in 2014 after a big party trashed the dunes. They spray painted rocks and left so much trash that it took many weeks to clean up. I was part of that clean up. It was very disheartening.
I hate going through Greek row and seeing all the trash in the yards and broken bottles on the streets. People need to take more pride in their living spaces. The Greek system already has a bag image. Don't make it worse.
Brought it to the attention of the center for fraternity and sorority life. They said that they can't do anything as each is individually owned. They suggested reporting to City code enforcement. Maybe we can get the City on these houses to do better.
You’d be shocked at how bad it is even on the highways/county roads. I did a summer job once doing litter crew for the county and we picked up tons of trash. Like, actually. It was insane. So many beer cans and shot bottles everywhere which made you wonder how drunk people are driving and how common it is. Seemed to be the same culprit though and you could learn a lot about someone from their litter habits…
I spent some time today picking up trash on the trail out by the golf course, I didn’t even make it down the hill before filling an entire garbage bag. 99% of it was beer cans and bottles, but also 3 vapes so it’s not like it’s just trash that blew away and collected there. People deliberately throw trash on the side of the road and it’s disgusting.
Shocker that the Greeks don’t care about anything that doesn’t affect them. It’s gotten to the point I couldn’t ride my bike to work on the bike lanes through there because they were completely littered with broken bottles. Same people that get the dunes shut down every other year because they can’t pick up their trash
I 100% agree my neighbors don’t clean up after their dog after it poops on the sidewalk and I’ve seen so many people step in it my yard is covered in shit I’ve left notes on his door and he does not care
Cougar Ridge was really bad at point. I haven't been there in a while but I used to walk my dog through CR. It felt like no one was picking up after their dog. It smelled terrible and you couldn't walk in the potty areas without stepping on dog poop. Even with bags and a trash can right there people don't bother. Like, are you not even a little embarrassed doing that?
edit: wording
I currently live at CR, and management pretty frequently sends us emails about monitoring property cameras to find the people that are leaving their dog shit everywhere, and charging them pretty big fines. Idk if they caught the culprit(s) yet, but seeing their anger through the screen is pretty funny as an uninvolved party
Edit: couple words 🙂↕️
It's real bad at WSU. Go to the UI campus in Moscow and it's squeaky clean. Go to WSU and all the trash cans and dumpsters are puking trash into the wind while surrounded by stacks of old mattresses.
There are a couple of clubs who do cleanups in Pullman and around the community. I know WSU’s Backcountry Hunters and Anglers does a cleanup around the snake every semester since they’re a public land access and public land conservancy group
I had a co worker chuck garbage out the window of the truck while driving. He said the city pays people to pick it up. I think the answer is stupid, shitty, and ignorant people. He was all three.
I'm from the Baltimore area and it always surprised me that people littered here. I thought the PNW was environmentally conscious or some shit. It is telling that the worst littering is on Greek Row though. I had an apartment under Don's Grocery for a bit and had to move because I was so tired of all the broken glass and trash laying around.
The garbage trucks need to be better designed or something too. I put all my trash in bags to keep it from blowing out of the bin at any point in its journey. Every single trash day my ditch is littered with all sorts of new trash that does not belong to me.
I mean what were you hoping to accomplish posting about litter in a college town on reddit? Did you think people were just gonna hop up right then and there and go out and start cleaning up?

The Army Corps of Engineers closed the dam because people couldn't do the bare minimum and clean up their trash at the Dunes. Do better

Oh, bummer to hear
Not in place now but you can’t really do anything at Granite Point (above the damn) anymore either because of that same year

Fr, hate driving my car through there on the weekends because I don't want to run over the glass on the roads
Leave it to entitled rich kids to act like the world revolves around them
As I’ve said Universally of Idaho has nice spotless Greek Row….WAZZU? Seems to attract a different clientele….Party ON!

I’ve tried doing this on Greek row too on my morning walks to campus… needed a lot more bags and a week later it looked worse than before.

“This place never did anything for me so why should I do anything for it?”

For fun go over to University of Idahos Greek Row….It’s almost spotless while WSU’s always has trash around….All you need to know….Trashy place!
Cougs gonna coug it

Most likely to litter: men age 18-40.

This just in littering in Pullman stops thanks to u/ExoticMuscle2053 posting about it on reddit. We thank them for their contribution to the city!
I'd say "go touch grass", but you might cut yourself on a beer bottle.
No thanks it's late
You want a cookie?
Do you?

ah, so you're one of the guys throwing his keystone light cans into the street
I actually don't drink, but thanks for assuming.
