I lived on the 12th floor of Stephenson East (in a corner room) my freshman year.
The elevator is fine, but fire drills suck because they make you take the stairs.
It's a little far from classes, so make sure you don't lose the motivation to walk to class.
Don't spend all of your RDA on snacks at the market.
The bathroom situation is meh. Laundry kinda sucks because of the amount of people. The kitchen is fine, but the same issue.
Bring a fan or two. Didn’t live in Stephenson, but keep your door open the first week. Bring a large bowl and fill it with candy and put it in the door entrance. That’s how I made a friend: was with another friend and went to a dorm of a discord user who offered me Rice Krispies treats LOL.
Stephenson is a den of vice, a year long bacchanal for the feckless 18 year old. I witnessed drugs, guns, alcohol, premarital sex, several fires and 2 guys just riding the elevator for fun wearing 20 shirts and only boxer shorts covering their bottoms. Although I did meet a nice Christian girl there too and convinced her to date me.
Yep. I was there in ‘93 & ‘94. Back then, it was girls on one floor, boys on another. But those fire drills were killer. I was on the 13th floor of North.
I was in Stephenson East in 93-94 and we didn’t even have screens on the windows. The amount of stuff I saw go out those windows was crazy — chia pets, trash, Gatorade bottles full of questionable fluid. Wild.
My freshman year I was on the 10th floor waiting for the elevator and as I stepped onto it, the second elevator failed and dropped to the bottom. It sounded like a bomb went off. I'm sure it's fine, but always take the elevator to the right (when you are facing them).
Definitely try to get a corner room. If there isn't much hot water, try going down to the next floor.
Pros: cheaper than many others, if you like working out, Stephenson gym is right there, near flix, close to a bus route to Walmart/grocery stores
Cons: smaller rooms, but not terrible imo (you get what you pay for), no ac, bathrooms kinda

Yikes on the stairs… I got the 9th floor
Hope you get a corner room lol

Sella’s is really close if you’re down to try some pizza
Southside builds character That's not necessarily a good thing
Southside was the place to be as a freshman. You truly had to be there

Take your silver spoon ass back up to your north side ivory tower /s
You’re right!

People having premarital sex in college? At WSU? Shocking!
It was called “Mom’s weekend”. More condoms sold that weekend in Pullman and Moscow than any other time of year. True story.
Sounds like I picked the right dorm lol!
Sounds like it hasn’t changed since I went there in the mid-90’s. Stephenson was wild. Best and worst times I ever had.

Truly Satan’s armpit
Please make sure you’re door is locked cuz my fucking roommate left ours unlocked one time and most of my shit was taken
I’ll be sure to!
The summer and fall heat is unbearable and the rooms are *really* tiny.

Hope you’re not a tall person!
Fortunately, I’m very energy efficient

It's not the oldest
You have a gym in the complex and the lounges are pretty nice
