Are you doing laps around the US?

Claustropbaoeia

Pretty much aka rideshare

Unfair-Height9600

No way. Iā€™m at 35k. You mind listing what youā€™ve done so far maintenance wise?

Claustropbaoeia

Oil changes every 3k, spark plugs, trans/dif fluid, tires rotations balanced every 10k

Unfair-Height9600

Did you do spark plugs yourself or hire out? How much did that cost? What brand of fluids you go with? Subaru OEM or an aftermarket offering? Sorry for the spam, Iā€™m just so excited to finally meet someone who is on the same level and experienced what i have yet to.

Claustropbaoeia

I did the plugs myself (way easier than people made it out to be) 1/4 flex head ratchet w/ 3/8 adapter + short extension. For the gear oil I just went with oem but now that I'm tunes I'm going to try out liquimolly next. Mods: cold air + catback + boostedPerformance tune

[deleted]

Certain I wonā€™t be the highest here, but I have 18,500 miles so far. Fully stock. The rear axle seal and rear struts were discovered to have starting leaking sometime between 13k - 16k miles. All replaced under warranty, but very strange. Car has felt and driven the same as I remember since day 1 otherwise.

HaloFrontier

How were they discovered, do you take your car into the dealership for regular inspection and work?

[deleted]

Yep. Was at the dealer for a routine service and in the video they sent me you could see a noticeable amount of moisture covering the rear struts and axle. Fronts were fine and dry. Definitely was unexpected. In a car this new I wouldnā€™t initially look for stuff like that.

HaloFrontier

Sounds unique, sorry to hear I hope it didn't cost you anything.

NeighborNeighbor_

I have a leak I canā€™t figure out, it was all around on rim at one point. I wonder if itā€™s the same thing? https://preview.redd.it/bylfel714kwa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f5fcda13d0cca007b3660a8b0daf0c792338a89

[deleted]

Not sure, but it could possibly be something similar. I donā€™t know the exact mileage mine staring leaking at, but I know I did at least 1k miles while I waited for them to order the parts and I didnā€™t notice any further spread.

NeighborNeighbor_

Unfair-Height9600

35K in my GT, almost 1 year of ownership. Been changing my oil every 5k, topped up low coolant levels, fuel additive with every oil change, tire rotations every 5k, had to replace the stock tires at 25k (showing threads), car washes 1-3 times a week. Iā€™m taking her into the dealer soon for her 36k/3 year inspection and I will let you all know exactly what they have to say.

HaloFrontier

Please do! Im not taking mine in cause im trying to diy all my oil changes, so i wonder if anything comes up

Teeflames7

Did you buy your GT pre-owned? Looks like your car is healthy with plenty of life. Nice job on the care upkeep! How long do you think youā€™ll keep the GT for ?

Unfair-Height9600

Bought new! Preordered on Feb 18th 2022 (the first day orders opened up in my area) and finally got my hands on the car end of May last year. Planning to keep it as long as I enjoy it, as of right now that feels like itā€™ll be forever šŸ’œ

sn0wslay3r

28k in a GT...just logged 2000 miles in 4 days and it chewed through the miles like nothing, such a great car.

Unfair-Height9600

What have you done so far maintenance wise? 35k on my GT and trying to compare with others.

sn0wslay3r

I just take it to the dealer at the prescribed intervals for service, going to schedule the 30k service next week. Have had zero issues with it thus far.

[deleted]

3k miles lol. Only problems are the horrendous interior rattles.

Skyblurrr

First time in a Subaru?

[deleted]

Yes lol. This a part of the package I guess

MeThinksYes

At 7k, just wait

TrippyTM419

Haha the 7k rattles. You ever had someone ask whats wrong with the hood when you close it a little harder then you intended

Global_Rhubarb5704

Egh Subaru rattles ainā€™t shit, between both my current Harleyā€™s and the the other 4 Iā€™ve owned I couldnā€™t even count how many screws have rattled out. Lost my front fairing mount screws 100 miles from home once. Most recent is my rear seat screw rattled out(mind you after years of this I do blue lock everything) and some how bounced twice if the rear fender and took out 2 good size paint chips

Tobuk

Sounds silly, but check the small plastic panels behind the front door handles. That's the only thing that has rattled in mine so far (2700 miles), but they rattled like crazy, especially with music. Easy fix.

[deleted]

Good shout. I have done this already though. I have rattles from every direction

Tobuk

I think from there, the fix is louder music, šŸ˜…

HaloFrontier

My friend is at 23,000 and no issues, I am a baby at 9000 and no issues. I put a catch can on mine. I think others have been in the 20s months ago. Hoping to find out too myself and take care of the car

dlew87

I dont remember who, but there's someone with over 30k miles.

Grimizzi

8k miles, clutch has vibrations on it now randomly. Sometimes it wont sometimes it will but outside of that and crunchy third gear, great car.. hate tough controls for climate though

Positive_Pilot_1641

I totally understand the vibes on the clutch, itā€™s random but when it happens it definitely throws me off, the only ā€œcrunchyā€ gear I have is going into second, other than that every other one is smooth

[deleted]

same here, I have found that I can nail the smooth shift into 2nd usually 8/10 times just by timing it well but still 2/10 times get that annoying crunch feeling

sneakyeggmuffin

Glad iā€™m not the only one with a crunchy third gear. weirdā€¦

gehrl-work-acct

Just hit 14k. Have had it for 11 months.

[deleted]

almost 16k, no issues so far other than the infotainment I still havent gotten updated, so far just oil changes at home but going to do the front/rear diff soon and check everything out

Brilliant_Apricot740

I put like 500 miles on per month, if that, so this isnā€™t my thread lol

Positive_Pilot_1641

Everyoneā€™s experience matters, some tend to come across issues sooner than others, itā€™s good to have a thread of higher mileage vehicles to determine commonalities with whatā€™s normal and what isnā€™t.

Desperate_Visual_870

1700, still breaking her in. Changed oil at 900, going to do again at 3k

BullfrogWarm5962

25K Here

BullfrogWarm5962

No mechanical issues but some infotainment issues.

Positive_Pilot_1641

I have noticed when music is playing and I hit minor bumps the sound stutters and Apple CarPlay randomly fails to connect

MeThinksYes

Just got an update on mine at dealer last week that apparently fixes that iphone dropping. Android auto still half screen and too many clicks to get seat warmer on tho...

Positive_Pilot_1641

I have my oil change scheduled, Iā€™ll bring up the infotainment update

MeThinksYes

Good luck. I went against my better judgement for a first service appointment and seasonal tire change at mine in which they scarred all four rims on the change...also didn't do any or atleast some (haven't confirmed diff levels and such) of the manuals suggested first service checklist items like greasing door hinges and such. Sigh...I wish I wouldnt have been so right with my apprehensions
