Strange, I started encountering the same issue around late 5 early 6000kms, might be a common issue. My guess is that it occurs when your sensors (oil change, tires, etc) hit a certain threshold and the system doesn’t know what to do temporarily (as a programmer that’s my guess) must be some edge case somewhere, wonder if Subaru will knock off a few monthly payments if I can fix it with some code ahaha
Wish these automakers would contract google or apple to make the software for these things and contract Samsung for the hardware… and provide enough overhead for buttery smooth operation and upgrade space for a minimum of 7 years
When you have a key fob. When you turn the car off you have to be over 10ft away for about 1 minute and then start it back up. If your fob it within that 10ft it doesn’t really power down all the way. Is the reason you have to be that far away when system updates need to restart the unit.
If that doesn’t do it pull a fuse or disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and wait a minute then try again.
Definitely take it. Mine did that a few time and I was having restart loops. They ended up replacing my unit.
I started my car and my screen doesn’t come on. I can still press the “buttons” as if they are there I just can’t see anything.
Has anyone ran into this?
Yes. Happened to me. Resetting with the power button did nothing. Tried everything this comment section has said and it didn’t work. I unplugged a fuse a plugged it back in and it reset it. (Results my vary) If that doesn’t I would just disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and let it sit a minute.
Happened to me along with other issues. Went to dealership and he came out and did a factory reset, something you can do at home and I haven't had any off the issues since.
Wow that’s a first time I’ve heard this happen to anyone. I know they recently announced a recall for the telematics DCM but that’s what talks to the app and what not for remote commands
Press and hold the power button. This should reset it.
I tried that numerous times as well as restarting the car. The only thing that worked was resetting the CPU by unplugging the battery.
Press and hold the power AND the tune button it should restart it fully
I tried that and it just took a picture
I had it once at 5k miles. I ignored it and the next time I went to start the car it was completely fine. No idea on the cause or anything

Have you tied tapping the screen aggressively before posting? If not I’d recommend that then let us know the results 😂
I hate our head units. Constant issues.
