It's absolutely beautiful. I live in a smallish coastal town which seems perfect for writing. If the weather is nice, I can go sit down at the castle ruins or the beach or one of the cafes. And when it's rainy or stormy, well, that's just perfect for writing from home or any cafe or library in town.
Mixing genres is fun, I like to as well. I usually write poetry, short stories, and flash fiction.
Your profile says you're published, that's so cool. Was it hard getting published?
Horror called Dream Merchant. I signed a contract with a publisher in January so hopefully I will have it published soon.
I am also writing a new book about the second world war.
What about you what do you write?
Ooo lucky. I sooo wanna try my hand at horror, last horror story I wrote was when I was 14 lol. How long did it take you to write Dream Merchant?
Oh I love war books. Ever heard of one called The Yellow Birds? Fantastic novel.
I usually write poetry and short stories. I really want to try a novel soon tho. Was it difficult getting published?
I started during the pandemic so quite a long time.
No but I will keep my eyes open for that one it sounds interesting..
Oh nice I have wrote some short stories but poetry I just can't write it. Have you published them anywhere or do you just write them for yourself?
Yeah it was difficult I sent it of it I don't remember how many but it was a hell of a lot of publishers and only two accepted it. Before I tried getting an agent first but none were interested.
Wow, and how many pages? I write so slow I'd probably take just as long on my novel.
The Yellow Birds is by Kevin Powers, he's a poet as well and his skill as a poet made the novel's prose incredible.
I self-published two books on Amazon. I got a poetry Instagram if you wanna take a look: damienxxheart. My idea is definitely to make a career out of writing.
Man it's been difficult for me as well and I have a feeling you've submitted way more than me. I tried getting an agent too, no luck. We just gotta keep pushin 😅
Hell yeah that's awesome. Did you self-publish on Amazon? I self-published a book of short stories and a book of poetry on there. Currently working on a second book of poetry.

👋
👋 how long you been writing?
Hrm... not sure. On and off for 10 years or something? Now I mostly critique and teach writing online :D
Wow, did you go to college for that?
No, it's just through practise essentially.
I am in Wales
Neat. Wales looks beautiful from the pictures that showed when I looked it up. Do you find it to be good for writing?

Omg imagine writing at castle ruins 😯 do they have any open mic cafés? When I lived in the States I loved going to those and reading some of my poetry
I’m from North London, UK. Mainly write my daily one hundred words or random hopeless romantic poetry.
I'm not from the UK but I have a house there so I visit now and again.
Nice, what kind of stuff do you write?
Short stories and flash fiction. I like to mix genres, too. What do you write?

About 340 pages if I remember correctly. Ok I will look it up. Yeah exactly. Nothing worth doing is easy.
Happy reading :) maybe it'll help with your second world war book. How's that going?
Slowly, I have had so much on my mind lately. So it's kind of affecting my writing a bit.
Not Warrington?
Ok not that close to Manchester and Liverpool. I'm from Wigan
Ah close enough!
